This is one of the best tracks of the year. The abrupt synth that plays here is unexpected and wonderful. Adds so much emotion and tension to the track. Amazing work.

A new artist on TT! 

Athlete Whippet join the Toy Tonics family! The London/ Berlin-based duo makes a sound that is based on futuristic breakbeats combined with deep jazz chord progressions and a kind of funk that sounds more like it was made in 2100 than in a year behind us. Definitely not a retro record. The “Vesta EP” is a further proof that the connection between London and Berlin, that has been build by several Toy Tonics artists (Cody Currie is the latest in the gang), is becoming a strong one. The combination of the Berlin dancefloor sound and the UK jazz fusion soul is changing the scene and creating new moods. Neo soul and house, broken beats and disco… There are a lot of things happening in that new world and Athlete Whippet could be a strong player in that sound.

Alfonso brings a brilliant Deep touch and defines it in four different ways; he is really capable of telling his personal story with time being on his side, considering that each track is almost 10 minutes long, which makes every composition a sonic adventure.

Lumberjacks In Hell welcome Croatian producer Andrej Laseech to the table following his promising early outings on Be Yourself and Sound Exhibitions. On this release, Laseech has reached out to the mighty, eternally prolific Javonntte for a little vocal magic, resulting in the utterly sexy deep house burner "More Than Friends". It's a track that Marcel Vogel & Tim Jules clearly dig, judging by the light touch they applied to their own remix of the track. "Take You Away" on the flip is another sweet and sultry warm-up or backroom jam that gets lifted even higher by Javonntte's stellar vocals.

MY FIRST MUSIC RELEASE OF 2020! Woooohooooo

I have been friends with @scrimshire for a long time so it was really nice to be asked to remix a track from his excellent 2019 album 'Listeners'. I had free reign and chose to have a play with 'After' which features excellent vocals from @and-is-phi. 

You may have noticed that my last few remixes have been using breaks as I found it inspired me to make a completely style of music. My first forays into production were producing drum and bass around 1995 so it feels full circle to be back in Bristol and cutting up old jungle breaks.

I really enjoyed writing this track and it fell together effortlessly which gives me a lot of confidence about the musical content.

Creator of classics 'Wonky Bassline Disco Banger' (hammered by DJ Harvey, Moodymann and even Elton John), 'In Love Again', 'How I Program', 'Kalimba', 'Tomato Pope', he's also a much loved broadcaster working with SWU.FM, Rinse FM, WWFM and NTS and guest spots on BBC Radio 1 for Pete Tong, Mistajam and Gilles Peterson. He's been even more busy during the pandemic supporting other artists with his 'How I Program' music producer community.

Since returning to the UK (after 8 years in Berlin), he's been releasing killer records like 'Wonky Techno Banger', 'Overthinking' and his Red Baron collab with Ron Basejam from Crazy P (huge support from Gerd Janson, Avalon Emerson and more), as well as undertaking huge tours of USA, India and Asia playing at clubs like Tag in Chengdu (Chinas Berghain), Rhonda in LA (one of the hottest pan sexual parties in the US) and Smart Bar in Chicago.

He's a super adaptable DJ, just as comfortable playing blazing disco boogie at Pickle Factory in London, deep house at TV Lounge in Detroit or raw swingy techno at Mothers Finest in Berlin.
