The madrileños artist carves out a new era for his music, his debut 'Consort Of Zeus' EP on Ya Hala Ya Hala back in 2021 has continued to bewitch all who encounter it since its release. Space Phantasy EP has four delectable dancefloor cuts destined to bring the heat.

‘Space Phantasy’ is a journey to atone for demons to become the best version of yourself, even if everything around you is crumbling at your feet. It wasn't originally intended as a dancefloor song. I have tried to be as organic and minimalistic as possible in its production.

‘This Is The Time’ was the beginning of a change in both my sound and my life. I was listening to a lot of acid & Chicago, house, and in the end, the idea was to bring those influences and that classic sound to the present in a low bpm track, but with a very particular dancefloor pressure. With this track, I wanted to remind myself that it's always a good time to start from scratch and abandon a sad self, which only subtracts from your potential.

TAU label heads Adana Twins brings the tempo up a notch with a primed late-night, sweaty phat remix, huge hoover bass tones interject racing percussion, and main vocals samples for a futuristic blend of driving sonics. The duo shows off a distinct ability for carving in breaks into their tracks. Keeping things Techno-ish and consistent while adding touches of their breadth of influences. 

Life & Death regulars Marvin & Guy gives the reworking a hazy and trippy desert, bringing a dreamlike feel while keeping things dancefloor-friendly.
The remix begins in the same spirit and captures the blissful allusions of its name Space Phantasy, but its initial gentility belies the deep intensity to come. Floating pads glow with celestial ambiance, melodies, topped with a vocoded vocal hook.

Vilnius-based record label Good Skills presents a five-a-side of solid grooves with a trademark Made in Lithuania. From slow and low to high and tight, “Sekta” is a compilation of organic textures and inviting rhythms, created by the up-and-coming local talents. 

The opening track delves into the “Emotions” of Shurmin Nikita. A proper intro builds on catchy breaks with distant vocals and a slo-mo that lends a funky vibe. 

Up next is Zakmina, one of the most-talked-about producers from Lithuania. “Dykuma” (Desert) is a promising collab with egoistic punk band EGOMAŠINA. Every chord in this tune is a reminder of what a remarkable friendship between electronic music and garage rock can be. 

"Georgian Dumplings" have been cooked somewhere in Copenhagen and smuggled straight into the Good Skills office by two re-emigrants, who call themselves Deserted Island. Mellow and acoustic, it simply sounds tasty. 

“Vaikų Ligoninė” (Children's hospital) is Shkema at his best: ghostly vocals, pitched drums, and unpredictable flow tells another weird story from parallel universe. 

Last but not least are Bojarchük and his “Force”. A full-time medical specialist delivers a surgically accurate yet fast-and-furious heavyweight, which has the potential to become ultimate dancefloor filler.

Rebolledo explains - "Following some now cult releases on Multi Culti, Turbo Recordings (with the much-acclaimed “MZ”) and his recent LP “Lotos Land” on Japanese imprint Endless Flight, our favourite East-Berlin born Sascha Funke is back with a record on Hippie Dance’s sister label - You And Your Hippie Friends.

I guess that some have you noticed my obsession with Sascha Funke’s music over the past years since it is an essential part of my DJ sets. After taking a pause in his solo work in order to focus his attention on his amazing band project Saschienne together with Julienne Dessagne (AKA Fantastic Twins, also his partner in life), he came back with a really cool EP on Kompakt Records which I played over and over and left me wanting more. Being close friends gave me the luxury of having access to his material before others and when I would visit the coolest couple in Berlin, Sascha would always play me his new tunes in the car while rolling through the city. Every time I would ask for those tracks to play out and in the club, people that I would play with would often ask who was behind them, as it happened with TIGA one night in Cologne, which eventually led to Sascha’s music being released on Turbo Recordings and Multi Culti the following months. 

Now I finally got the chance and honour to release a Sascha Funke EP on our own humble label… ACATENANGO. Like every time, it all started with me visiting Berlin, Sascha playing his new material while cruising around on board of his German car, me getting in trance while listening to it, asking for it and playing it right away in my next sets.

Three super cool tracks, all very different from each other but somehow connected with the inimitable Funke touch. Powerful yet elegant, hypnotic yet fun, brutal yet sophisticated.

Life And Death’s next album project finds label boss DJ Tennis work with Israeli duo Red Axes to express themselves with total freedom and explore the similarities and differences between their respective sounds. Entitled Redrago and due for release as a 2 x 12” on October 11th, the adventurous and subversive full length is preceded by one two track single release and will will also be taken on the road for a series of unique live shows. 

DJ Tennis and the Red Axes duo were first introduced to each other by The Pachanga Boys at a festival in Corsica. “Their faces, their expressions and their attitude—gentle, smart, loving and funny—impressed me at first sight“ remembers Tennis. That was many years ago, and since then they have deepened their personal and musical connections, but “always by chance” says Tennis.  Around a year ago, they were having a discussions and decided they should attempt to combine their “love of psy and mediterranean influences” and scheduled a week of recording sessions together. 

After making at 9am and having a proper Israeli breakfast, the artists went to a studio on top of a decadent old shopping mall in the Centre of Tel Aviv. Each of them then set up in one corner of the studio with their own instrument (including Tennis’s Pearl Syncussion, a small modular setup, a Juno and bunch of guitar pedals, while Niv and Dori “used their usual weird cheap instruments including bass and guitars”) and they began playing, experimenting and jamming, recording everything they did then swapping stations and repeating the process. “It was a friendly and loving experience” say Red Axes, who add that they then took all the recordings into various editing sessions and finalised the adventurous, multi-genre exploration that is Redrago. 

“The aim was to find a kind of Italian-Israeli connection in our musical approach, “ explain Red Axes. “So the album journeys from psychedelic Italo disco to Israeli trance rock with a lot of rave elements. We call it falafel disco mixed with a 1/4 of spaghetti sauce.”

The album opens with the freaky synths and punchy drums of ‘Rave ’N Roll’, which has layers of exotic instrumentation and beguiling sound design. ‘Redrago’ is a Balearic track with expansive pads and sun kissed melodies washing over you like breaking waves, while ‘Il Veliero’ is a complexly woven tapestry of intoxicating leads and drunken tabla drum sounds with a psyched-out vibe. 

The soft rock licks and conversational synths of ‘The Kohlrabi Session’ make for a chugging disco groover while ‘Plastelina’ is a deep and late night cosmic exploration that continues through the star gazing ambiance and long legged drums of ‘Shalom Alanation.’ Acid squiggles and tropical vocals make ‘Ventilo’ another fantastically fresh track while ‘Phantom Rag’ closes out with a flurry of wild synth patterns, techno drums and intergalactic feels that round things out in intense fashion. 

This is a freeform album that knows no musical boundaries and will appeal to lovers of everything from kosmische to ambient, techno to Balearic.
