Out today, June 18, Laurent Fintoni's Original Cultures project drops the first official material born of the unique music and visual art events it has hosted in Bologna (IT) and London (UK) since 2009. The Formula is a four-track EP of music written and composed by young Italian producer and multi-instrumentalist Fabrizio ‘B.Kun’ Pollice with drums by Ed ‘HED’ Amati. Together these two form Beat Inc., a project which was first introduced as part of Original Cultures’ 2011 production The Formula - from which the EP take its name. The Fat! Club EP 001 is the first in a new series of free mini-compilations showcasing tracks from some of the UK’s most exciting underground producers. 

Established in 1997, The Fat! Club encompasses a record label, blog, club night and management agency. This long running commitment to UK underground music has seen Chew The Fat! host arenas at festivals across the UK and Europe, monthly parties around the globe, and five consecutive summer residencies at We Love…Space Ibiza.

Now more than ever the UK underground scene is overflowing with creative minds and upfront beats, and The Fat! Club is as passionate as ever about new talent. 

This first instalment features music from Pále, who after releasing on Fat! Records and Four40 in 2012 was named one of XLR8R’s ones to watch for 2013, along with fellow Fat! cohort Wolf Cub. As one third of Transmission Collective Wolf Cub is set for a big year as their label, Transmission Audio Recordings, continues to go from strength to strength. Newcastle based Moe has been bubbling up for a while now, with forthcoming music dropping on MadTech. London based duo DE$iGNATED are already forging out a signature sound, and with some wicked collaborations in the pipeline are set for big things. Rounding off the EP are Origins Sound, a collective of DJs and producers from Bath, who’ve been causing a stir with their parties at The Porters.

Following acclaimed excursions on Hypercolour (‘Needs You EP’) and Will Saul’s Aus Music (‘Child EP’) last year, George FitzGerald is preparing to make his return to his Hotflush home for the first time since 2011. Premiering in FitzGerald’s debut Radio 1 Essential Mix last month as part of the ‘2013’s Future Stars’ series, ‘Thinking Of You’ is scheduled to drop as a Beaport exclusive on 18th March, with full physical release and accompanying tracks to follow in May.
 
Having displayed his innate understanding of how to craft a musical narrative with the Essential Mix, ‘Thinking Of You’ turns to the darker realms of the dance floor imbued with the same kind of precision-tooled grooves, nuanced melodic touch and emotive shades that have garnered him such praise in the past.
 
The last twelve months have been extremely busy for FitzGerald as he continues to capture the attention of industry heads and fans alike with his refined and emotive homegrown club music. Releasing music on his regular home Hotflush, as well as Will Saul’s Aus Music imprint and the acclaimed Hypercolour stable, not to mention his own burgeoning ManMakeMusic imprint, FitzGerald's flourishing discography continues to grow steadily but impeccably.
