In anticipation for How We Do: LA - a special musical collaboration between WeTransfer, Gilles Peterson and some of L.A's most exciting musicians - I've put together an hour-long selection celebrating the West Coast past and present.

How We Do: LA is a unique evening of musical collaborations. Presented by WeTransfer in association with Gilles Peterson, the event brings together an exciting combination of live music from Badbadnotgood, The Sa-Ra Creative Partners, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Nai Palm and more. Gilles Peterson presents: Havana Cultura: ¡Súbelo, Cuba! The Podcast. This 30 minute podcast is to accompany the release of the new album, Havana Cultura: ¡Súbelo, Cuba on Brownswood Recordings. The podcast  includes insight from Jigüe, Nino Fony and El Individuo and Laura Catana who manages Guampara Production company in Havana, Cuba. 

Havana Cultura: ¡Súbelo, Cuba! showcases an extended network of like-minded, forward-thinking musicians driving Cuba’s music forward. Following repeated trips to connect with venues, collectives and DJs, Peterson and Will LV – one half of LV, who’ve released on Hyperdub and Keysound amongst others – linked up with DJ Jigüe, a much-respected producer and DJ, whose Guámpara label has charted new directions for Cuban music. He’s been profiled by The Fader and Vice, and the album features his extended network of collaborators, connecting Afro-Cuban traditions with contemporary movements and ideas.
