Through his genre-busting mixes, edits and original productions, SINES is setting a benchmark for cutting-edge club music with a Latinx twist. As one half of DJ duo Santa Muerte, the Houston musician has been pushing a unique fusion of US rap and R&B, UK hardcore styles, and rhythms from south of the border for over a decade. On his 'GMNI' EP, his first solo release in five years, he tightens his focus to four tracks of bouncing dembow. 'Mal Intento', produced in collaboration with Mexico City's Rafa Maya, is a perreo grind with a romantic touch, as dreamy guitar licks float past the upfront vocals, sampled from the 2007 reggaeton hit 'Agresivo'. Alongside the three additional tracks on 'GMNI', 'Mal Intento' signals a new era for the South Texas fusionist. SINES' 'GMNI' EP arrives on March 9 on his label Majía.
