Following  in  the  wake  of  "Leland"  (2012),  the  critically  acclaimed  full  length  debut  by  label  founder  Francis Harris,  Scissor  and  Thread  is  proud  to  announce  the  November  18th  vinyl  release  of  "You  Can  Always Leave,"  Harris'  first  material  under  his  own  name  since,  and  the  first  hint  of  his  anticipated  sophomore  LP , "Minutes  of  Sleep,"  due  February  2014.  The  new  single  portends  the  mood  of  the  ensuing  album,  a  further foray  into  Harris'  signature  blend  of  house,  modern  classical,  shoe-­gaze  and  noise  which  is  the  artists  most ambitious  and  accomplished  work  to  date.  As  the  sole  dance  floor  moment  on  the  LP,  "You  Can  Always Leave"  picks  up  where  Harris'  cult  hit  "Lostfound"  left  off,  with  vocals  once  again  from  Danish  vocalist  Gry Bagøien  and  the  heartbreakingly  august  trumpet  of  No  Regular  Play's  Greg  Paulus.  The  remarkable  Terre Thaemlitz  delivers  an  epic  12  minute  remix  on  the  flip  under  his  DJ  Sprinkles  guise  which  is  sure  to  make this  12inch  a  sought  after  piece  for  house  music's  analog  enthusiasts.

I'm pleased to announce THE LIQUID AMBER EP. This single/EP serves as the opening salvo in what I hope is a long string of music, by myself and others, on my new imprint: LIQUID AMBER. There's two new songs, "Ghost Town" and "Mob," and a nifty remix of "Six Days" by Machinedrum.

"Ghost Town" is an ambitious ride through many of the micro-genres within the Future Bass umbrella that have inspired me recently, while "Mob" is an intentionally stripped-down, Cali-certified head-nodder. Both songs were written, programmed, and mixed by myself, and they represent the forward steps I feel I've taken as an engineer. The "Six Days" remix was something I asked Machinedrum to knock out as a tour weapon, and he crushed it (naturally), so I felt it deserved a proper release.

I'm excited about this music and the new imprint, and I really appreciate everyone's time and consideration.

16 artistes d’aujourd’hui, venus du monde entier, revisitent, en versions inédites et
dans leur langue natale, l'oeuvre intemporelle et sans frontière du maitre à
moustache !

Suite au superbe accueil, public et critique, de la compilation "Brassens, échos du monde" (parue en avril 2011), et dans laquelle on retrouvait trois inédits (dont celui de Danyel Waro), le label Fanon poursuit son travail de défrichage créatif autour de l’oeuvre de cet artiste français majeur du 20ème siècle. Dans le premier tome, Fanfare cubaine, jazz polonais, maloya réunionnais, swing new orleans, folk russe, musique 8 bit montraient l'universalité des thèmes et des mélodies de Brassens.
"Brassens Echos d’aujourd’hui" n’est pas un simple volume 2. Pour Emile Omar co-programmateur de Radio Nova et concepteur du projet), l'idée était de souligner encore un peu plus le caractère intemporel de cette oeuvre en proposant à des artistes étrangers contemporains qui ne connaissaient pas forcement Georges Brassens de revisiter une chanson du répertoire à leur manière, tout en les accompagnant dans la direction
artistique. De l’Argentine au Liban, en passant par Haïti, la Mongolie, la Colombie, l’Angleterre, le Brésil, la Suède, les États-Unis, Trinidad… chaque artiste chante dans sa langue et sa musique ce qui donne à certaines interprétations un côté surprenant et totalement inédit.
Au total, seize morceaux, créés exclusivement pour cette compilation, qui mettent en évidence la modernité et l’intemporalité de cette oeuvre unique. "Brassens, échos d'aujourd'hui" s'inscrit dans la dynamique du jeune label explorateur Fanon records.

Aux commandes, Emile Omar (encore lui !), avec la minutie d’un artisan passionné, mène des projets sonores à l’esthétique pure et aboutie. Roseaux feat. Aloe Blacc, projet en licence chez Tôt ou Tard sorti en novembre dernier en est le parfait exemple. Ces chansons/reprises sont des trésors qui ont atteint les sommets de vente, preuve que les oreilles du public ont toujours besoin de beauté.
