Le premier pied, ou plutôt la première oreille, que je mets dans la House music et ses origines doit faire suite à  la découverte d'un article du qualitatif blog SeekSickSound, qui était consacré à la soulful house. Une playlist était proposée afin de découvrir le courant, l'écoute du track de Gigolo Supreme, "After The Storm", fût un point de non-retour pour moi!
Des débuts aux platines de l'appart du copain Guitch, à la découverte de la House dance, en passant par la sortie récente des deux compilations solidaires "La House Rennaise", je me suis littéralement épris d'un univers musical intense et riche.
Touchante, spirituelle, puissante et fédératrice, la house music mérite une attention particulière, que je partage, non sans un grand plaisir, avec les copains de l'association La Rennes Des Voyous. C'est suite à une discussion salvatrice avec le poto Juan que je me suis lancé dans cet enregistrement bien deep et costaud. C'était cathartique et nécessaire!

Na nossa edição número 100, as linhas de baixo melódicas e elaboradas são a atração principal, mas o mix transita por tudo que vai do baleárico ao funk, sem restrições e com um único propósito: hedonismo e prazer a cada nova virada. Pra se esbaldar!

In an eternal and obsessive search for warm and ethereal basslines, I fall into funk music after meeting a vinyl dealer in my hometown - Rennes - who gets all his stock from Chicago. Full of original US funk, disco, soul, jazz & Chicago House at low prices, this is the place to be and learn about black music! And this is the beginning for me of my passion for bass lines which revolve around "funk sensations": synth, boogie, 80s funk, funky house, disco funk, jazz funk, all around this particular sensation of 'a warm bassline that will keep your feet off the ground and create special communions on dancefloors!

Nova Tropica Vol. 1 - Timéo

Few weeks ago, Timéo (@timeodj), one of the DJs from french collective La Rennes Des Voyous contacted us to share his latest mix. 
We really enjoyed the vibe of the podcast mainly based on what Timéo called the "funk sensations", the energy of funk and its origins that he tries to transcribe thru lots of genres and especially French synth & funk on this one.
While recording this, he quoted Soul Claps records  "[About Italo Funk] it is not a style, genre or a specific sound, it's more of an attitude, a mindset you have to put yourself into before producing or DJing."
So in this 100% vinyl mix expect many gems from some electronic japanese grooves, Armenian and Austrian funk, kwaito, afro funk or house.
