Like everyone else, José Rodriguez has gone through all sorts of experiences in life. Those experiences made him who he is nowadays. And taught him that “life is change”, and that everything is subject to change. Including us, the human beings. This change was the spark and the inspiration that started the creation process of ‘Inner Alchemy’, José Rodriguez’s first LP. That will land on the Berlin-based Redlight Music in late November.
 
‘Kybalion’, ‘Tao te Ching’ and ‘I Ching’ are some of the key books about ‘the fundamental principles of Hermetic Philosophy’ that inspired José in the creative process of this album. This path took José to study meditation and Qi Gong. A system of coordinated body-postures and movement, and breathing used for the purposes of health, spirituality, and martial-arts training, also known as ‘Inner Alchemy’. The concept of change as a fundamental part of life, as starting point and as a moving concept helped him to shape the sounds and melodies and inspired some of the song titles.
 
With previous releases in Global Underground and Sincopat, José Rodriguez has been a prominent figure in the east of Spain for quite a few years. Working as sound engineer for more than two decades and being an active part of the DJ and Producer scene of his hometown Elche, in the surroundings of Alicante.
 
The album artwork and the concept design of the double LP edition have been created by Demsky. With artistic influences around the early 90s graffiti movement, the fluorescent era, the late 80s and early 90s nostalgia and the future, the Spanish artist has been spreading his art throughout more than 50 countries for the last 25 years. Understanding art as a vehicle to stimulate senses and heal the soul, he is creating this shocking record cover and album artwork design for José Rodríguez.
 
‘Inner Alchemy’ is set for release on Redlight Music in late November. And will be available in digital, vinyl and cassette.

This track is a heartfelt tribute to the incomparable Beyoncé, whose words in the commencement address "Dear Class Of 2020" have been a guiding force in shaping the essence of this production. 

I sincerely hope you find joy in it.

Beyoncé's impactful speech touched on themes of resilience, empowerment, and the celebration of achievements. As she addressed the graduating class, she spoke passionately about the challenges faced, the strength found in unity, and the importance of using one's voice for positive change. Notably, she courageously addressed the pervasive issue of racism, urging everyone to actively contribute to dismantling systemic barriers.

In crafting this piece, I aimed to echo these sentiments through the medium of music, utilizing Logic Pro to translate the essence of Beyoncé's message into a sonic experience. It's worth noting that I personally produced this track right in my kitchen here in Berlin, adding a unique and personal touch to the creative process. 
The beats and melodies encapsulate the spirit of empowerment, universal themes of love, unity, and overcoming adversity, inspired by Beyoncé's powerful words.

To add another layer to this creative journey, I employed the assistance of artificial intelligence for mastering. 

May this track serve as a reminder of the collective strength we possess, even in the intimate setting of my kitchen in Berlin.

On October 29, 2024, a devastating storm swept through the province of Valencia and surrounding regions in Spain, leaving destruction and heartbreak in its wake. Flash floods surged through towns and cities, overflowing river channels, collapsing bridges, and leaving thousands stranded. The loss of life is already staggering, with the toll expected to rise as some remain missing. Homes, livelihoods, and entire communities have been severely affected.

For us at Redlight, this tragedy hits especially close to home. Founded in Picanya (Valencia) in 2010, our roots remain firmly planted in the place where it all began. Our friends, their families, and loved ones are among those affected, and we feel compelled to do whatever we can to help.

Our goal is to raise as much support as possible to provide relief for those impacted by this tragedy. We are committed to donating 100% of the proceeds equally among four local non-profit associations and charities currently working on the ground in Valencia, providing much-needed aid and support. Proof of donations will be shared with everyone who buys this release or any of the songs included.
