Canadian Future Funk legend TENDENCIES and French Disco House veteran She Said Disco reveal a never-before-heard single on Montaime: “Hips (feat. She Said Disco)”, a silky-smooth Disco House throwback that’ll get your hips moving in no time.

In 2016, TENDENCIES and She Said Disco met and collaborated on SoundCloud, with TENDENCIES being a fan of She Said Disco’s 2012 “Lady Airplane (EP)”, featuring remixes from Nu-Disco artists Jean Tonique and Hemingway. Both artists had music on Future Funk label KEATS//COLLECTIVE, so their Disco-minded chemistry made them a natural fit.

Half a decade later, Montaime is proud to unveil TENDENCIES - “Hips (feat. She Said Disco)”, an ‘80s-infused Disco House track that features the sharp confidence of TENDENCIES’ four-on-the-floor production laid on the smooth foundation of She Said Disco’s sampling.

“Hips (feat. She Said Disco)” makes its titular purpose clear with TENDENCIES’ booming kick and snare as She Said Disco’s sampled synth strings creep their way in to lock you into a mesmerizing groove, complete with bright vocal chops. TENDENCIES’ production expertise rearranges and refines She Said Disco’s foundational plunderphonics work into a glossy, hip-shaking dance-floor filler.

“Hips (feat. She Said Disco)” is out via streaming platforms on 5/7/2021, and will be featured as a bonus track on TENDENCIES - “Waterbed (Deluxe)” releasing on 5/14/2021 on digital + vinyl preorder.

Existential terror hurrah harsh post-punk!
Astro Tarot is the second single from the forthcoming album 'No Nostalgia', to be released in Fall '21.

Sharp guitars cut through woozy synths, sucking you into a labyrinth of snarl and symbolism.
The song is an ode to Tarot and Astrology and the role they play in diffusing the anxiety of the unknown,  and in navigating an ever disorienting world. It's a reminder that ultimately intuition and free will prevail, as does the punk spirit.

Black Light Smoke’s (@black-light-smoke) US-based imprint Death Decay Magic invites The Hacker (@the-hacker), Cardopusher (@cardopusher), Man 2.0 (@man2point0) and Adrian Marth (@adrian_marth) to remix tracks from the first three releases on the imprint. After seven years of brand building as a podcast mix series, Death Decay Magic was launched as a record label in March 2020 by Jordan Lieb aka Black Light Smoke. With a DIY ethos, Death Decay Magic explores the darker, eclectic realms of electronic music, bridging techno with EBM, minimal synth and post-punk.  Death Decay Magic Remixes Vol. 1 is a compilation remix EP, drawing on the first three Death Decay Magic releases; Black Light Smoke ‘Line and Shadows’, Daniel Holt ‘Traveler’, and Man 2.0 & Black Light Smoke ‘Holy Hammer’. Death Decay Magic invites remixes from The Hacker, Cardopusher, Adrian Marth, Man 2.0, and Black Light Smoke on a release that illustrates the labels blueprint perfectly: raw, edgy synth music with ghostly vocals; one foot in techno, the other stepping out into the unknown.  Zone Music boss The Hacker gets things underway with a crunchy remix of Black Light Smoke ‘Lines’ featuring crystalline leads, zapping synths and whirring stabs. Up next, Man 2.0 and Black Light Smoke’s ‘Bodywork’ gets a remix from Classicworks founder Cardopusher as he takes the remix into mystifying territories with revolving modulations bouncing elegantly off the chugging rhythm. Night Noise artist Man 2.0 follows by laying down an industrial-tinged electro remix of ‘Traveler’ with otherworldly atmospheres, gauzy textures and dynamic elements.  Italo Moderni label boss Adrian Marth follows with an interpretation of ‘Bank For God’ as the spiralling EBM sonics flow vigorously and the drilling rhythms get to work underneath. DDM honcho Black Light Smoke then finishes things off with a version of his track, ‘Your Own Hands,’ which fuses rubbery bass grooves, playful melodies and vibrant 909s.

Dancing Strangers, a post punk duo from Tijuana (Mexico), made up by Richard Rex and Eric Curiel. In late 2009, they began recording their first demo and shortly after in 2010 they recorded their follow up E.P. "POWER SEX CORRUPTION" and in 2014 they recorded their second E.P. "LOST IN LUST" under the PRIMA CRUSH label. Throughout the years the band has opened for many important acts like Peter Hook and the Light, Thieves like Us, Chrome, She Past Away and many more just to name a few. After a four year hiatus the band returned to write their first full length album (self titled), recorded in the city of Ensenada under the production of the band with The Obsolete (Lorelle Meets The Obsolete) as engineer and Lorena Quitanilla in guest vocals.
