2020 kicks off as Redrama is releasing rapid-fire singles working with producers from the US, Finland and Sweden among others – this is his original raw and artistic expression from a new perspective. All the music being released through his own Non-Genre label.

Redrama (Lasse Mellberg) was born in Helsinki. Started his musical career early learning the guitar, playing back to back 12-bar blues sessions with his father. He went through the rock and grunge phases as a teen but his guitar playing moved towards the Afro-American traditions of jazz, blues, funk and soul and he was accepted to the Pop/Jazz Conservatory of Helsinki.
    Learning about music theory, history and playing different instruments (guitar, piano, flute, bass,  kept him busy for years to come and at the same time he fell in love with hip hop and started writing rhymes and producing his own songs. Main influences early years were Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, The Fugees, Outkast, EPMD, Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch to name a few.
 
      Redrama's first release was an independent EP in 2001. 
The Album "Everyday Soundtrack" (2003) earned him the European Border Breaker award. 
"Street music" (2005) earned him a Finnish Grammy Award for best hip hop act.
Redrama’s third solo album "The Getaway" was released in June 2009. The album was self-produced together with childhood friend Carl Möller and introduced a new and improved Redrama who has really found his own style and sound!
 Getting sober in 2010, he landed a new deal with Sony Music in 2012 and having his commercially biggest singles and album with “Reflection” 2014. The songs coming out of a and fruitful collaboration with Finland’s premier producer / songwriter MGI having two consecutive Finnish Radio airplay #1’s with MGI-produced “Clouds feat AJ Mclean” and “Let Go feat Kristinia DeBarge” gathering tens of millions of streams pointing to a fresh direction never resting or repeating the same thing.
