Dave Pearl is more than a Baltimore based musician. He also wears the hats of drummer, pianist, vocalist, and composer, who performes on the local scenes and international stages. Dave has performed and recorded with notable artists and Bands including Red Sammy, Yosef Karduner, Niki Barr, Adam Monaco, Aaron Hill, Shane Dodd and more. He currently leads his own Jazz Trio.

 

Dave has been described as, "an Old Soul with fresh ideas". He believes that music provides a safe space for musicians to communicate intimately and connect with one another on the deepest level. Others Artist respect him for his abiltity to adapt to a variety of music genres including Jazz, Rock, Funk, R & B , and Folk . 

 

Dave studied Music at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia after which he studied Counseling Psyhcology at Temple University and Chestnut Hill College. With a background in counseling and special education, he has been able to translate his musical talent to teach music with children and adults of autism and other differently abled individuals. Over the twenty years of teaching, Dave has created a curriculum with an emphasis on process oriented learning. He is a patient and dedicated instructor whose goal is to unite a diverse community of artists thru a wide-range of music genres in which he strives to adapt his teaching style to the learning style of each individual student.

The self-styled mandolin player/singer of Two Tuesdays, a band of music-loving friends from the Baltimore/Washington area.  Stew and Two Tuesdays are from the improvisational school of "never the same way twice" (allman brothers, grateful dead, etc), but widen to include originals and a diverse range of rock and country covers from the artists that inspire them (bonnie raitt, drive by truckers, son volt, lucinda williams, rolling stones, johnny cash, etc).

Stew is also the namesake of StewFest, a magic annual summer mini- festival that celebrates friends, food, family, neighbors, cold ones and... live music.  He also books bands for The Reisterstown Festival (www.reisterstownfest.com).

Whale Show is a force of nature. It was formed in 2006 by David Huber, Ben Pollak, Steve Meredith, and Cooper Formant. Whale Show performs regularly at Bertha's in the Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. 

Current Whale Show band members are: David Huber (guitar, vocals, harmonica), Ben Pollak (electric guitar), Steve Meredith (bass), and Joe Grice (drums).
