The king of deep returns with his first original work in five years, joining the Red Section label and bringing his legendary Detroit-inspired techno sound to the imprint's impressive roster of artists. With a career spanning over two decades, Lars Sandberg has earned a reputation as a revered producer and a true DJs DJ. Classics such as the anthemic 'Diabla, 'Emotional Content' and 'Jack Me Off' have earned him legendary status in dance music history, while he is ever in demand as a remixer, having reworked iconic artists such as Underworld and New Order. From his base in Barcelona, he has maintained a long-running residency at the highly regarded Macarena club and is currently preparing for a tour of Asia. Red Section is now proud to unveil his new solo release 'Phoenix' an aptly titled trip into robust deep techno territory that propels itself on an insistent one-note bassline and shimmering Maurizio-esque stabs. Pared back in production, it is a perpetually evolving heads-down groove guaranteed to move even the most reluctant ravers. Remixes come from an array of highly regarded producers combining to create a package that will work across a range of dancefloors. First up is BB Deng who concocts a stomping stab-laden workout followed by Millhouse, who delivers a turbo-charged techno interpretation. Berlin's Professor Dictabeat comes next twisting the original into vocoded angular electro shapes. Sarkha tunes into the darkness and turns up the BPMs, while Thian delves into the deep on his atmospheric percussive workout. Mechanic Slave delivers a relentless slice of industrial techno before Der Køch turns in a hypnotic modern techno throbber. Finally, comes Johannes Volk, the highly regarded German producer who creates a superb groove punctuated by Detroit synth tones and underpinned by a jacking Chicago percussive backbone. The 'Phoenix' rises from the void, delivering a stunning original and set of remixes destined to cause damage on dancefloors across the Globe. Funk D'Void - Phoenix (Mechanic Slave Remix)

MECHANIC SLAVE is a music artist, originally from Osijek, Croatia, with an address in Berlin. His real name is Igor Kuna. He is the owner of Red Section Records and a resident of the Synthesis Berlin program. Over the years, he has become known for his unpredictable style based on old-school techno sounds, which he has developed through his experimentation with electronics. 

MECHANIC SLAVE has played over 100 gigs in his home country of Croatia, as well as internationally in countries such as Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Macedonia, and Kosovo. His productions and remixes have been supported by renowned artists such as Funk D'Void, Richie Hawtin, Laidback Luke, D.A.V.E. The Drummer, Samuel L. Session, Dr. Motte, Pet Duo, Arjun Vagale, Mani Dee, and many others.

Berlin-based DJ and producer Thian, co-founder of Instead Recordings, is a distinguished presence in Europe’s electronic music scene with over 1,000 performances and more than 100 releases. Originally from Zagreb, Croatia, Thian launched his career in the late-'90s, performing at iconic Croatian venues like Kulusic, The Best, Fort Bourguignon, Oxygene, OTV-Boogaloo, Valentino, and Masters. He also founded the influential party series “Tatraplan” at Valentino, which became a major force in cultivating a new generation of club-goers in Zagreb. The series later moved to Masters, celebrated as Zagreb’s most underground club.

Since moving to Berlin in 2011, Thian has become a fixture in the city’s nightlife, holding residencies at various clubs and leaving a lasting impact on Berlin’s electronic music landscape. His performance credits include renowned venues such as Arkaoda, M01, and Suicide Circus, now known as Lokschuppen. Beyond Berlin, he has held residencies at Stuttgart’s Lush and HaBar and performed at the Summership festival in Nuremberg.

In addition to his solo projects, Thian is now part of the Berlin DJ collective Synthesis. He also curates his own event series, Thian & Friends, where he hosts Berlin-based DJs as part of his residency. A prolific producer, Thian’s catalog spans respected labels, and he has completed official remixes for acclaimed artists Funk D'Void and Samuel L Session.
