As the war closes in, the Feyerabend family, along with countless others, is forced to make the heart-wrenching decision to flee their beloved home in East Prussia. The novel "Hinter uns das Land" ("The Land Behind Us") is based on my mother's true story of flight and loss from East Prussia during World War II. It tells of a world shattered by war and the lifelong search for a new home. Tragically, this story is not just history. Today, it repeats itself.

I created this Ukrainian adaptation as a gesture of solidarity and empathy. The song's message – that even after profound loss, a new home can be found within the heart where love grows – is my humble offering of hope and strength. It is a reminder that you are not alone in your struggle, and that the human spirit's capacity to heal and rebuild is boundless.
