Redspace, UNWA - So Pretty (Original Mix)

Correspondants 28th release, Polina, delivers another brooding, evocative EP for the label, this time from the Agents of Time polyhedron: a fusion of ideas and concepts that make up a single reality. The Italian trio of Andrea Di Ceglie, Fedele Ladisa, and Luigi Tutolo came together in the summer of 2013, and their inaugural album was released via Stem Records in January of the following year. The group uses both analog and digital equipment to refine their unique amalgam of progressive, techno, and ambient music.

Magdalene (Original Mix)

Opening with ‘Found You’, this release has enchanting properties right from the very beginning. This cut rolls out with distinct percussion and a mesmerising riff. The sensual rhythm is complemented by a distorted female vocal. As the energy builds and more percussive elements are added, more layers are added, increasing the depth. In the background, the sound of an excited crowd amplifies the impact of this captivating composition.

Scatcity Records launch into 2019 with the return of Ivory to the label, delivering a three tracker which has already gained the backing of label supporters Dixon and Ame.

The title track kicks off proceedings as a dark and eery tech roller. Sharp synth stabs flutter over the higher frequencies whilst a jittering bass line marches onwards throughout the entirety of the track. Colour arrives on the scene as a sunset of light chords that reverberate in the lead to the final climax.

Black Haired Sea sees a more melodic approach and has an almost live feel to it. Expect a concoction of trippy lead lines that swirl and throw you off balance before the arrival of a monstrous groove and emotional chord changes.

Closing the collection we see label head Skatman once again offer his interpretation, this time on Black Haired Sea. The product is a beautiful and calmer piece, with warm shimmers and subtle kicks that will see you right through until sunrise. 

Another fine collection from one of Berlins finest labels.
