Originally broadcast in 2016, this episode has always bugged me because its the only one (as far as I know) where I had a communication breakdown with the main guest. Nothing fatal of course, I just played the wrong versions of the Dan Harrow and Information Society tracks, both of which were influential on Mono Junk. So, here is an update featuring the (hopefully) correct versions of those two tracks. Enjoy!

Some Like it Yacht is the final release of the Yacht Series trilogy. What started out as a fun exploration of 70s and 80s covers remixed and mashups, has become an institution by itself. This set was commissioned by Drea to celebrate her birthday.

Mad Hatters Day Party Afrikaburn 2023

An incredible day was had by all in Budapest in late May on the Cruisin / Be Massive 20th Anniversary Boat Party on the Danube. 

My great friend (and amazing DJ/Producer) Metha invited me to celebrate Be Massive's anniversary and the brief was ... 'please play some classics from across the years as well as some new stuff - and we'd love to hear a little Zodiac Cartel too'.

August 2023 Mixtape

This is my set from the Beats 4 Love Festival which took place at Dolní Vítkovice in Ostrava, Czech Republic, in the summer of 2023.

Since I returned to the fray in 2023, I've been using Ableton and a number of controllers to create my sets and am loving the flexibility it gives me to do deeper dives into edits, overdubs, mashups and mixes. It wasn't uncommon during this set to have four or five audio channels running simultaneously. I hope you enjoy the ride!

Beats For Love Festival 2023

Every year I'm invited to open the Ibiza Catamaran Party. A trip around the Island of Ibiza. Lots of drinks. Good food. Beautifull people. Nice weather. This edition was on the 12th of September. 159 people on deck. Really enthousiastic crowd. Awesome set. Enjoy listening. (Please remind yourself that this was a live set. Small mistakes happen. Due to certain events beyond our control we had a late departure for Spinning Wheel this year. I was scheduled to play the opening slot on Friday but we weren't able to make it in time. Playing music & making people dance is very cathartic for me. With my work being as exceptionally difficult as it has been this year I was really looking forward to sharing my music with everyone. Missing this much needed time behind the decks was a heavy weight on me & I allowed it to stay there for the rest of the weekend. 

In an attempt to shake the bad energy that I (and my life) created for myself I made this. I'd like to think that it went down like this somewhere on the sacred timeline.

This is what I had planned on sharing with everyone for the opening set of the 2023 Fall Classic at Spinning Wheel. I hope you like it.

Ambient Mafia Sunday Sundowns 2023-10-29

A RE:CONSTRUCTED set is a *long* way removed from a standard DJ set. Here's how it works.

Simon takes hundreds of tracks from his huge library, painstakingly deconstructs them (using Ai if needed to separate elements from the original tracks), and then pieces everything back together to create a hugely emotive and immersive musical story.

He uses Ableton Live and multiple controllers to trigger up to 16 individual channels of audio at any one time during the performance, and also performs live keyboard overdubs. The end result is a hugely addictive, compulsive and compelling blend of music that's often new, often familiar but always utterly unique.

This is storytelling on a giant canvas, and in 2024 we will be adding visuals and further live instrumentation to these RE:CONSTRUCTED sets.
