Brazilian duo Digitaria get set to ‘Shine’ even brighter with a highly anticipated second EP for the one and only Hot Creations. A potent mix of sweetly sensual vocals and dreamy electro pop with a kick for the floor, the ‘Shine’ EP is backed by a pair of exceptional remixes courtesy of cosmic icon Morgan Geist and on-point breakthrough artist of 2012, wAFF.

A-side ‘Shine’ instantly captivates with a wash of soaring synths that accentuate the warm glow of Daniela’s intoxicating voice. Lyrics forming the beating heart of the song along with the melodic bassline groove, this is a record destined to give the crowd that warm fuzzy feeling at a sunrise set. One of NYC’s finest Morgan Geist, aka Storm Queen and one half of Metro Area, bestows his genius in the first ‘Shine’ remix, introducing staccato synths, a pulsing bass beat and later an intense fusion of cosmic chimes, undulating rhythms and popping percussion.

B-side ‘Mystic Flow’ is a more late night affair, building layers of mystical voodoo over the low elastic bassline and punchy textured groove, the vocals imbued with a hypnotic snake charmer quality. Last but by no means least; wAFF’s remix of ‘Shine’ has got something of the Ame classic ‘Rej’ about it. Immersing Daniela’s crystalline vocals in a molten sound bed of psychedelic prog, wAFF knows how to get you tripping.

Digitaria is the project formed by Daniela Caldellas and Daniel Albinati, on the sunny shores of Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Seducing Latin America and beyond since

2004 with their blend of romantic electro pop, the duo met Jamie Jones one steamy night in 2012 at Warung nightclub and soon got the Hot Creations boss hooked on their sound. Tracks passed over soon after became the Digitaria/Funkyfat ‘Masochist EP’, a subsequent summer hit, and the rest is history. First release of 2013 was collaboration with the Adana Twins ‘Reaction’ on Jeudi Records, and the Hot Creations ‘Shine EP’ is sure to further mark the duo as a global force of nature.

Well underway for 2013, NastyFunk Records are back with one of their most forward thinking releases to date. Fresh from Miami and into your ears are Troncoso and Submuller (or Subtron) who have taken the deep scene by storm this year with big signings between them on Get Physical, Nurvous and Electronique amongst others. 

Their collaboration results in NF011, which is truly in a class of it's own and filled to the brim with underground sounds. Serious house beats and deep techy elements contort and combine to great effect in the original mixes, whilst the two remixes take the tracks to two different places. The title track, Everything, with it's intelligent dual baseline, futuristic pads and trippy synth breakdowns keeps Miami nu-wave in it's heart, but it's real patronage is to today's deep sound. It's a real delight for the ears with a contagious groove to match, and that's without mentioning those spectacular vocals... and THAT drop. The B Side, That Funky Girl, is the perfect compliment to the EP, showing a much nastier, darker, and much more introverted side to the duo, with hooky lyrics, dark contrasting harmonies, and a driving beat. 

As always, NastyFunk deliver hot property when it comes to the remixers. Crosstown Rebel's own Walker & Royce take the first duties with a sunshine vibe perfect for WMC. The track grows and grows and keeps the poolside shaking with stupendous breakdowns and an incredibly uplifting arrangement ensuring you'll be asking for more. The second rework comes from the unquestionably excellent, Flow & Zeo. Filled with dancefloor busting Brasilian Funk and spine tingling emotion in equal measures, this one's certain to turn any dancefloor into a free for all, whilst it's harmonic composition is guaranteed to obliterate your musical tastebuds. 

A true testament to the genres of Deep House and Indie Dance/Nu Disco, this one's a keeper.

Perfect crystal clear vocals, a cool driving beat and a synth line that will catch you instantly.This tune is hypnotizing and irresistible. Still not unstoppable enough? Easy bro! This release also includes a massive remix by the unstoppable rave machines Tube & Berger and the smooth  groover "Make You Feel" on the flip. But now enough with the cheese! Time for unstoppability!

Here's the second bootleg from our 90s mix. Everything you hear in this one is from 1996. This may or may not be the final mashup we ever do, so lets all turn a blind eye just this one last time. To all you brow-raisers, keep that bushy little caterpillar above your right eyeball nice and low. In the spirit of the 90s (and even in the spirit of some classic Soulwax), here's another bootleg to add some nostalgia to your next hip hop soiree.

We weren't very old in '96, but we were certainly listening to to enough music to know what we enjoyed. Even to this day, Jamiroquai remains and inspiration to our productions. Look no further than Foreign Language to catch a few glimpses of Cosmic Girl. The 90s mix was inevitably going to be hip hop, but we wanted to somehow sneak in a few other songs that were instrumental to shaping the decade and our tastes. It worked out as one of the most fortunate coincidences that Hypnotize and Virtual Insanity were in key together. And we know how naff it can be to throw a Biggy acapella over anything, but in tribute to that particular year (and even decade), we had to pay respect to one of the best in the game.

As a fun side note, the drums are taken from The Fugees - Killing Me Softly (also from 1996). This bootleg is so jam-packed with 1996'ness, it's one Slap-band away from turning into a Troll Doll.
