This technically replaces the ambience that plays in Snowdin Forest before you encounter Sans, although the duration this plays for is longer than it is in Undertale, as it takes a bit longer to encounter someone.

After the battle against Asgore, Kris enters the elevator that Asgore had been standing in the way of. During this elevator trip, another encounter with Gaster is had, in which he comments on whether or not Kris and their soul have been growing stronger. 

Once they exit the elevator, they find themself in is the extremely hot Dryedout desert. The area is known for its killer climate. Heat-prone or heat-resistant monsters typically live here, though there are some exceptions. Kris, to prevent themselves from dying of a heat stroke, re-enters the elevator briefly to change into more weather-appropriate clothing.
