Philadelphia rapper and artist SS Sparks, real name Coy Gibson, channels hardship and inner drive into frank, raw and hard hitting tracks such as Dead Dreams and his latest single Sky Dance. For Gibson, music is both a transformative force and a means of escape from personal troubles and wider social issues; it is his guiding light in the daily grind as an independent artist- and he has gone solo since day one. This grit and determination has been an important part of his artistry, and makes itself known in his honest and unpolished lyrics plus his dreams for the future.
Though inspired by big names such as Jay-Z, Gibson stays true to what he calls the Philly sound- a combination of music as a force for social good, as well as a means to express hardship and daily circumstances on the streets. Born in Baltimore Maryland, Jahni found his passion for writing music as an escape from the hardships of his childhood. 

Growing up around drugs, violence and being tormented by bullies who made fun of the timid gay kid, Jahni left home at 16 and found his voice in his songs. With his music, he was able to find confidence within and manifest his dreams of sharing his music with the world.
