This beat was a lot of fun to make, it was the kind of jazz sample that when you pitch it down it gives off immediate hardcore vibes, so I was just having fun with all the chops and sequenced these 3 loops. Hardcore Jazz inspired beats is such a New York staple, so I immediately went to remix Danger by Blahzay Blahzay over the beats, probably the most obvious and profound anthem celebrating the East Coast style of Hip Hop (the album it's off is mad nice too, in my opinion pretty underrated too). This is actually shown in an interesting fact I learned from the comments on the video from 'broli28', who wrote "The story behind the filming of this video is that when Blahzay put this track out, it hit so hard on NYC radio, that when they began shooting the video, all of those artists simply showed up to support him. He didn't expect all of the support but they showed him love. When this came out, it was EVERYWHERE in all boroughs".

Back when I remixed this the needle for my turntable was on it's way out so the acapella loses quality in a few sections and there are a few pops etc, which was a bit frustrating at the time. In retrospect, it kind of adds to the gritty sound of the remix which I'm still happy with. I'm really looking forward to making another hardcore sounding beat that fits the vibe of this acapella, I definitely have the most fun making them and get the most gassed off of remixes that celebrate and capture that distinct NY sound, so that'll for sure be happening in the near future, and I'll probably try and remix the last verse which I left out of this one.
