The group's name acts as a double backronym. As explained on the track Fighting on Soul Food, Goodie Mob means the GOOD DIE Mostly Over Bullshit.

Well, for those of you that are sipping already; what you’re tasting is the ethnically diverse duo artistically known as Water4Mars.

As this team of two prepares to release its yet to be titled indie debut, it’s clear that these characters don’t fit “neatly” into hip hop’s current line of hit wielding wonders. Collectively, they have lived in the suburbs of Dallas Texas, dwelled in music’s southern capital Atlanta, and resided in Jersey City, not to mention spending some youthful years in the Southwest Asian island nation of Sri Lanka. Now settled in New Jersey, this tandem delivers a sound that’s gumbo in nature – strikingly universal, but remarkably different.

As if that wasn’t enough to digest, this two man squad not only produces, writes, and performs their own music, the content and depth of their art alludes to a much higher calling. As Channel Jamil, the coined lyricist of the pair, puts it, “We make music that’s inspired. If it’s not inspired by an experience, a feeling, an emotion, then we typically don’t do it.” Effortlessly delivering a sound infused with hope, pain, triumph, and fun, amongst many other things, their music will undoubtedly find itself in a variety of media formats. Not to be mistaken for amateurs, however, Water-4-Mars delivers masterfully on its lead single, “You Got It”, a fun “Hip-Pop” track in which they repeatedly convince the women of the world that all women have that “It” factor. “Do what you do how you do it,” says Tim Jones, using his vocal chords to insistently but melodically convey a message that every woman wants to hear – “You got it girl!” Although this track doesn’t feature Channel’s piano playing ability or display Tim’s love for the djembe (an African drum), it did provide them with an opportunity to put their IAR (Institute of Audio Research – NY) training to use while recording and mixing their single in the group’s makeshift studio, appropriately known as “Sri Lanka.” According to Tim, “Everybody that enters Sri Lanka (AP’s studio) talks about the sereneness of it and being able internalize the music in a way that they’ve never done before.”

If things continue to go as planned, Jones and Jamil will begin their planet wide invasion, inviting the entire world to ingest what they’re producing. Needless to say, their skill set and infectious sound indicates that these two may very well be ready to carry out a massive takeover, and likewise, I think once the world hears what they’re working with, it just might be open… open to quenching its’ thirst, with a little bit of “Water 4 Mars.”
