This innovative project of new compositions brings together piano repertoire representing the diversity of today’s American classical music. With sounds and textures both new and familiar, both tumultuous and contemplative, all the pieces touch on themes of transformation, of resonances across time, and of cycles of rebirth. The four composers present a snapshot of the many facets of piano music in 2013, the beginning of a new era of pianism.

Steinway Artist Nadia Shpachenko-Gottesman has performed extensively in solo recitals and with orchestras in major venues across North America, Europe and Asia. Described by critics as a "truly inspiring and brilliant pianist... spellbinding in sensitivity and mastery of technique," Nadia enjoys bringing into the world things that are outside the box – powerful pieces that often possess unusual sonic qualities or instrumentation. Nadia’s concert highlights include solo recitals at Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, as well as numerous appearances as a soloist with orchestras in Europe and the Americas. An enthusiastic promoter of contemporary music, she has been chosen to give world and national premieres of more than 50 works by Elliott Carter, George Crumb, Tom Flaherty, Annie Gosfield, Leon Kirchner, Amy Kirsten, Hannah Lash, James Matheson, Harold Meltzer, Adam Schoenberg, Lewis Spratlan, Iannis Xenakis, Peter Yates, and others. Winner of more than a dozen piano competitions, Nadia currently serves on the faculties of Cal Poly Pomona and Claremont Graduate Universities.

Hace Bektaş yolunda olduğu biliniyor. Söylentilerin birine göre, Muhiddin Abdal, Romanya'daki Balçık kasabasında Akyazılı Şeyh adındaki bir dervişin öğrencisi. bir başka 
söylentiye göre Utman Baba'nın dervişi. şiirlerinin birinde geçen "ela gözlü Sultan Baba!" seslenişindeki "Sultan Baba"nın, bu "Utman Baba" olduğu ileri sürülüyor. bir başka söylenti de, Muhiddin Abdal'ın, Eşrefoğlu Rûmi'nin oğlu olduğu yolunda. Bu söylentiyi doğru sayanlar Muhiddin Abdal'ın 15. yüzyılda yaşamış olduğunu varsayıyorlar.

A native New Yorker (b.1969), Fan studied at the Juilliard School, Harvard University and the Peabody Conservatory. John Wasson's long musical career began as a pre-schooler, when he started picking out tunes on the family piano. He began arranging music for band when he was still in high school, and went on to become an accomplished arranger, composer, and performer. A Wasson work commissioned by the Dallas Wind Symphony, "Festival Fanfare for Christmas" offers the trumpet section an opportunity to step out with a series of intricate fanfares built from well-known Christmas melodies. Before the piece is over the rest of the brass have joined in, as well as Mary Preston on the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center's magnificent Lay Family organ.

I have recorded an outstanding concert with the amazing craftmanship of the ‘Talent Unlimited Ensemble’ at St James’s Church.

This is the 1st movement of Fazil Say's "Four Cities" sonata and can be considered as a journey through four cities of Anatolia.

This work has taken its inspiration from Fazil Say's memories and events of his life. Bodrum is well known as a city greatly frequented by tourists which sets it apart from the other locations. These four very different cities with their individual cultures have been selected from the nearly 2000 km wide expanse of Anatolia.

SIVAS
Sivas is a conservative city located in Eastern Anatolia which is known for its large Alevi population. Asik Veysel is an Alevi Ozan (poet) and Fazil Say has been inspired by his song "Sazim" (my saz/ my instrument) in the first part of this work. The movement is concluded on a melancholy tone in imitation of this ethnic instrument.
