The ninth instalment of the Reference Mark Mix Series. Past, present and future friends of the label are given the chance to reference the sounds that define them.

As one of the first people to welcome us to the vibrant Leeds scene in 2017, our next mix in the series comes from Tom Lewis aka DJ Kimura. As the founder and owner of the exquisite sounding Kimura Soundsystem, he provides for many people in the underground music scene, from supplying the artillery for DIY club nights, to helping students put on the best house party on the street. As a DJ he can be heard at his own Spin City night, a (speed) garage event that has hosted the likes of Norfn Gyal and Shuffle ‘n’ Swing. Taking off with 2-step garage veering towards acid and breaks before coming into land with trusty 4x4 garage – this mix gives us a peak into DJ Kimura’s sound.
