More than just an upcoming artist Ref Montana is a philanthropist to the game. From ghosting for artists to behind the scenes producing the very beat the artist records to. Born in the heart of Louisville, Ky. Ref Montana was conceived to the reckless streets of the east end (Clarksdale Projects) until the age of 6 where his father moved him and his siblings to a more structured area in the NewBurG community. 
At age 8 Ref began liking and learning poetry until he fell in love with the words and the music. Coming from a religious background and having a father that professionally sung Gospel in a quartet Ref began to write music with the encouragement of having a role model and background of the sound. At age 11 Ref was offered a gospel recording contract with Righteous Riders.  Around 12 and 13 the streets began to catch up to this talented spirit. After declining a very nice offer Ref decided to give the street a run for it. By 17 Ref was shot an incarcerated for enough time for him to clean his act up. Amongst coming home in 2009 Ref and his younger brother(Velly Sosa) decided to turn a street gang into a rap label hence the forthcoming of TEAM NOE ENT. 
Currently Ref is coming off a slight retirement due to being a working parent having kids and buying houses, but he is currently working on a couple solo records under a new independent label (MONTANA MAFIA MUSIC & MOTANA THA MOBB) and several features that he would like to keep unmentioned.
