German mainstay Kölsch has had a thunderous few years , fully establishing himself as a worldwide force to be reckoned with. His piano-drenched techno has been slaying sound-systems the world over and even after two incredible albums via Kompakt, we reckon the best is still yet to come. 

His remix of 'Trouble At The Séance' is deep, dark and full of lazer-beam synths that zip in-and-out of focus. Not much can be said about this one other than it's an absolute stormer and it's going to do some serious damage this summer.

Since forming in 2012, Leftwing & Kody have gone on to become two of the UK’s finest exports. Both Mixmag and DJ Mag named them as ones to watch a mere year after they paired up, with DJ Mag even nominating them for ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’ in their Best of British Awards. Since then the duo have gone on to present a monthly Rinse FM show, earn residencies at Fabric (London) and Sankeys (Ibiza), as well as releases on Hot Creations, VIVa, Knee Deep In Sound, Suara, MadTech, as well as their own renowned imprint Lost Records.

It’s fair to say Leftwing & Kody, real names Jon Kong and Chris Adie, have made it look easy, but it’s their determination and diligence that’s helped them prosper so rapidly in such a short time. Now, with regular label showcases and a Beatport topping discography spanning thirty releases, Lost Records can boast a roster including wAFF, Josh Butler, Detlef and Wade, to name a few. With everything mentioned it’s no surprise, then, that Leftwing & Kody continue to charm BBC tastemakers such as Pete Tong, Danny Howard, Monki, MistaJam and Nemone. Meanwhile, press support has been equally tenacious, with the likes of Mixmag, DJ Mag, Thump and Dancing Astronaut regularly endorsing the likely duo.

Hot on the heels of the A-Sides Volume 5 compilation, Enrico Sangiuliano makes his return to Drumcode with his highly anticipated EP ‘Moon Rocks’. The heavy hitting four track EP shines a light on Sangiuliano’s tight, thundering production skills. The hoover heavy lead track ‘Moon Rocks’ is packed with booming percussion, intricate synths and brooding crescendos. The EP encapsulates Sangiuliano’s wide spectrum of sounds ranging from the fat bass line of ‘Moon Rocks’ to the more delicate harmonies shown within the ‘Dutch Kiss’ mixes whilst ‘Ghettoblaster’ sits somewhere in between.

With DEF Mike, we have a well known DJ, producer and promoter from the beautiful Vienna on board this time. He delivers two beautiful originals for us, crowned by two remixes by Hollen and Patrick Kunkel.
In Hold Me Down a stomping kick, growling bassline and a remarkable arp sequence together with driving 16th hihats converge into a groovy mix of progressive and tech house elements. A melodic pad sequence together with the Hold Me Down acapella builds up a warm atmosphere in the break.
Work Hard has nice resonant bass sounds and big hihats, supported by an absolute massive bassline. Piano chords take you back into the first days of house music.
We are glad to have Hollen with us on remix duties this time. In his rework, he focusses more on the melodic side of Hold Me Down, which creates a trancy atmosphere which reminds you at the good old rave parties.
Patrick Kunkel is our second remixer for this EP who picks up the stunning bassline from Work Hard and tops it with dubby and wide synth chords that add another kind of richness to the original.

But where VONDA7 shines is in her ability to fine-tune the hypnotic waves of today's techno with her take on heavy and the tank-like force of Detroit-rooted sound. Following up with her release on Sasha's Last Night On Earth imprint earlier this year, VONDA7 now arrives on Dense & Pika's Kneaded Pains with 'Cuckoo Night', a swirling and pounding techno driver, out on August 28.

Milestones are never forgotten. When "Sunshine" was doing the rounds back in the day, everyone and their mother was on it, and rightly so.

Naturally it was up to 1605 to bring the anthem of anthems to the spotlight once again and hit everyone where it hurts, with five completely different renditions.

Umek sets the record straight with a monstrous interpretation, ready to stand the test of times to come. The journey continues with D. Ramirez and his bouncing version, while Uto Karem goes the subliminal route. The mighty Filterheadz themselves have done a hi-octane 2012 remix, Filthy Rich goes for a luscious vibe, and in case you misplaced it, or have been living under a rock for the past years, the original mix is here as well.

For many years Re:Fresh Your Mind (R|Y|M) has been a pillar of subcultural development in the Rhine-Main area and on a national level mainly focusing on event organization. Though the events have expended lately not only in Frankfurt but also on a national level due to its musical diversity and generally speaking because of its openness towards changes in the scene.  Understandably Re:Fresh Your Mind is conceived as a platform for a subcultural exchange between artists and music lovers initiated by SKAI and his Re:Fresh family, which include a few well respected DJs. With the label-launch of R|Y|M Records earlier this year Re:Fresh Your Mind-basis enhanced its reputation in the scene and takes another step in its development. Therefore, Frankfurt based SKAI teamed up with Gorge, who is well respected for his solo-productions and of course his works with Nick Curly. You never know what to expect next, but be sure it won't be anything you can be certain about when talking about R|Y|M - Re:Fresh Your Mind.
