GIO @ Fogo No Cu | August 2022

Vor 6 Jahren habe ich zum ersten Mal versucht meine derzeitige Plattensammlung in einem Set zusammenzufassen, um dem Internet einen Eindruck davon zu verschaffen.
Seit dem ist reichlich Musik vergangen und ich bin zu dem Entschluss gekommen, dass es mal wieder Zeit dafür ist, ein Resumee meiner aktuellen Suche nach Musik zu ziehen.
Ich finde spätestens seit dieser Seuche mein Bauchgefühl mehr und mehr in perkussiver, basslastiger, elektonischer Musik  aufgehoben und grabe mich fleißig duch dieses gigantische Neuland. 
Als Eindruck davon habe ich euch meine Lieblinge aus dem Bereich auf eine Stunde runtergebrochen und bin gespannt, was man davon hält.
Boogie, Disco und all die anderen Leckereien feier ich nach wie vor, aber es macht einfach mega Spaß ein bisschen neue Ufer zu erkunden.
Lasst mich gerne wissen, ob ihr mit dem Sound was anfangen könnt und sagt vor allem bescheid, wenn ihr Zeit, Raum und  eine stabile Anlage habt, um euch was zum besten zu geben.

Pour ce 63ème podcast, on reçoit 2 sorciers proposant une mixture sonore unique dans le paysage lyonnais : Pedro Bertho et Patxi aka Furie Sound System.

Furie c’est avant tout une rencontre entre la culture brésilienne et la France, un partage à travers la musique et un véritable temps d’échange. Ce chantier de construction massive vise à construire des autoroutes électroniques entre les cultures, là où la musique devient un langage universel qui défie toute définition. 

Dans cette fusion, chaque track ouvre une nouvelle porte vers un monde sensationnel et rebondit sur la précédente pour laisser place à un moment d’harmonie maximale connectant les esprits et les corps. Une expérience qui démolit les règles établies où l’on danse, où l’on mange et où notre curiosité nous amène à ouvrir nos horizons. 

Pour l’heure, on vous laisse avec une heure improvisée de ping pong entre les deux amis. Un échange soutenu avec quelques effets et pas mal de smash oscillant à travers leurs influences entre house, techno et groove. Bon appétit l’équipe 🌯

@gio_goltara (Giovani Goltara, he-him) has discovered that electronic dance music is where he feels most comfortable expressing himself. Ever since his early rave days, he's been drawn to electronic beats infused with Latin American rhythms. 

Digging through records from the 1990s, GIO uncovered a treasure of productions that appropriated diverse sonorities from the global south. 
Now, he's on a mission to bring these sounds back and re-appropriate them for queer dance events, particularly in Berlin, where he's been organizing parties since 2021. 

One of his standout events is Coven, which focuses on celebrating queer Latin American culture through music and dance.

El House juega un papel fundamental en mi vida, al igual que en la de muchas personas queer y migrantes. Junto con los afrodescendientes, los latinos han  fusionado raíces para crear el estilo musical que nos hace bailar hacen décadas. Mis primeras raves, yá a los 26 años, me hicieron sentir parte de una escena artística única. Como estudiante y profesor de historia del arte, me di cuenta de que era parte de una expresión artística que aún no se enseñaba en la universidad. Desde entonces, el House y el baile han sido mi mayor fascinación artística.
Para este mix, seleccioné vinilos y tracks recientes producidos por personas que comparten experiencias de vida similares a las mías. Seguro que muchos los compré mientras estaba bien colocado de marihuana. ¡Parece que yo y la hierba tenemos un bello gusto musical en común! Entonces ahí están 39 tracks que me hacen tripear :)
