A lifelong garage head, Ramage started as a pandemic bedroom DJ. After sharing a few mixes, he was invited to join Glasgow's Radio Magnetic roster, where he's been helming the monthly Pure Mince show for the past two years. Initially a reaction against the moody and laddish cultures of contemporary clubbing, the show has become a celebration of hedonistic joy with a camp sensibility. "Pure Mince is a mix of Scottish and polari slang that sums up what the show is about - unsophisticated, hands-in-the-air mix of big basslines, big vocals, and big energy." Outside of Pure Mince, Ramage has self-released both dance music and ambient pieces, the latter having soundtracked various exhibitions in Scotland. But for his Genre Fluid mix, Ramage is definitely playing big, bright and brash.

„Unsere stärkste Waffe ist unsere Stimme. [...]“ sagte die afgahnische Sängerin und Frauen- und Menschenrechtsaktivistin Sonita Alizadeh in einem Interview mit Deutschlandfunk Kultur im Jahr 2021. Daran angelehnt und an den Satz des iranischen Rappers Toomaj Salehi „Unser Schwert ist Liebe“ und dem gleichnamigen Buchtitel von Gilda Sahebi: „Unser Schwert ist Liebe. Die feministische Revolte im Iran“, ist die Idee für dieses Set entstanden.
Sprache ist schon immer ein Ausdrucksmedium gewesen, um über eigene und gesellschaftliche Themen zu sprechen. Die Lieder in diesem Set setzen sich inhaltlich mit politischen und gesellschaftlichen Themen auseinander und kritisieren autokratische und korrupte Regime. Es geht um Gleichberechtigung, Gewalt an Mädchen*, Frauen* und FLINTA-Personen, Kinderehe, sexualisierte Gewalt, soziale Ungerechtigkeit, Unterdrückung, Diskriminierung und strukturellen Rassismus. Die Musiker:innen nutzen ihre Stimme um über genau diese Missstände aufzuklären. 
Die Lieder sind überwiegend von weiblichen Musikerinnen, da es z.T. Frauen und Queers noch heute in manchen Ländern verboten ist, öffentlich zu singen. Ebenso entstanden manche Produktionen unter erschwerten Bedingungen und hatten Inhaftierung zur Folge, wie z.B. bei Toomaj Salehi, der seit Oktober letzten Jahres im Iran inhaftiert ist. 
Um diesen Musiker:innen eine Plattform zu bieten ist das Set entstanden. 
Es hat nicht den Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit, sondern möchte einen musikalischen Beitrag dazu leisten, Aufmerksamkeit auf die Künstler:innen zu lenken, die in den gängigen Radiosendungen kaum gespielt werden und die in ihren Herkunftsländern nur unter erschwerten Bedingungen Musik machen können. Oder nur vom Exil aus. 
„Die Musik hat mich stark gemacht. Sie hat mir geholfen, selbstbewusster zu werden. Und ich will, dass sie auch anderen Frauen hilft.“ (Neue Zürcher Zeitung: 28.12.2018) sagte die iranische Sängerin und Frauenrechtsaktivistin Faravaz Farvardin. Sie hat vor einigen Jahren die Initiative „The Right to Sing“ ins Leben gerufen, ein Verein, der sich für das Recht der iranischen Frauen einsetzt, öffentlich zu singen.
