Sizzla - Daylight (XTM.Nation)

Track number 1 on the Living Heart vol 1 album. Luciano teamed up with producer Phillip "Fatis" Burrell and his Xterminator label, to produce majestic albums like Where There Is Life, which came out on Island Jamaica. It contained such hits as "It's Me Again Jah", "Who Could It Be", as well the title track. They recorded a second album for Chris Blackwell's major label Island Jamaica in 1997 entitled Messenger, whose title track earned him his enduring nickname.

The majority of his recording in the mid-to-late 1990s was for Burrell and the Xterminator label, which by that time included such artists as Sizzla, Mikey General, Shadow Man, Ragnam Poyser as well as recordings from Capleton and Cocoa Tea. Along with the work on the two albums for Island Jamaica, the majority of Luciano hits produced by Burrell were featured on 1999's Sweep Over My Soul.

He’s got the lyrical gift to spare. His songs are distinguished by peerless vocal expression and quality of material, leading some listeners to believe he's actually older. The maturity in his voice feeds this impression likewise a combination of good grooming and a precious ability to sing. In every other respect, Anthony Que is a new star on the rise heavily tipped to play a crucial role on reggae music future scene.
Born in Kingston to a family of ten children, Anthony spent most of his childhood in Belmont, located in the parish of St Andrew’s, Kingston Jamaica. He began singing when he was nine years old and first honed his rapport with live audiences by bringing the house down at school concert. By fourteen his friends were calling him Singing Q - itself an abbreviation of Singing Quality, a sure indication of his promise.
With Beres Hammond, Luciano, Ducky Simpson of Black Uhuru and George Nooks all living nearby, Anthony never lack for musical inspiration, although there is gospel purity to his voice that could only come from the church. This said, his first steps into the music profession were with a gospel group called the Missionary Band, whom he joined after high school. Combining his musical ambitions with a local job, he was touring the Kingston Studios, and recorded in 1997 his debut single, "Early Morning" for Sugar Minott's Youth Promotion. That same year he went in Germany, Poland and England for a European tour alongside Daweh Congo. On his return to Jamaica, Beres Hammond invited him to join the Harmony House stable, to record his second single "Spreading Jah Love" and other as yet releases gems including a duet with Jah Cure.
Que credited Beres Hammond with helping to develop his vocal technique. But, Anthony decided to return in the UK where in 2001 he recorded his first album "A Brighter Day Is Coming", and then many singles for different labels, Sir Blackwax, Mike Brooks (Team Label), Tony Neuville (Notorious), Riverbank, Stingray, Russ Disciples...
In 2005, Anthony recorded a brilliant album for Jet Star Phonographics "Recharge and Reload" produced by Tony "Ruff Cutt" Phillips in London. Right from the start of this album, it’s clear we’re in the presence of someone special. After the release, Anthony decided to go back home in Jamaica to take his place at the forefront of today’s reggae vocal scene, he performed at the last Reggae Sunsplash with Gumption Band and started his third album « Jamaica No Problem ». Three new videos are shot and then broadcasted regularly on national TV and in the US and the single with Gyptian “Listen to the people” stayed several weeks in the Video Alley Top Ten chart. 2008 is revelation time for Anthony Que, Jamaica No Problem is out on a French label and he is touring Europe for the promotion, watch out for his musical attack....

"Italian Piezo and Belgian Clearlight join forces on this five-track EP for the Danish vinyl-only imprint Circle Vision. Despite none of them being born in eastern Europe, this release has a post-Soviet touch: the EP tells the story of the Chernovbil nuclear disaster and its aftermaths on the near town of Pripyat (now a ghost city) with a unique approach to dub and bass music, characterised by a meticulous use of sound-design.

"The weird euphory of 'Pripyat Dub’ is followed by a dark storm of destruction on ‘Scourge’. The spirits of the victims cavort on a spastic tribal rhythm ('Fallen Soul'), while an acid rain starts falling and floods Pripyat ('Here Comes the Toxic Rain'): its dubby ethereal melody anticipates the final re-birth, described by the soundscape climax of 'Punharbava'.

"The release is a vinyl-only limited run of 300 copies, including a special edition of 50 copies with deluxe artwork curated by Italian photographers/sound artists Mount Fog and printed by independent publisher Aalphabet: it features a hand-numbered, hi-quality offset print on 350gr Fedrigoni paper plus a folded poster with original photos that follow the music of the EP on this apocalyptic story telling.“
