Dear Stan

A tender, unadorned conversation between piano and saxophone.  A wistful dialogue — two voices gently drifting past each other - each lost in its own reverie. For a time, they move parallel, never quite touching, like strangers on adjacent paths. But as the piece wanes, they find each other in a shared breath of melancholy—a simple, still fragile harmony that lingers in the silence long after the final note fades.
An elegy not just for an ending, but also for everything unsaid.

This is an original composition of mine featuring solo Cello and English Horn. [very similar sounding to an oboe but with a lower range] A very soft felty piano and background viola sections.

It is called “Unforsaken”. The official definition of “Forsaken” is to be completely deserted or helpless, abandoned. So the title of this piece is the opposite of that. So this is the story of been forsaken, and then clawing your way back with forgiveness and compassion to become unforsaken.

Somehow, musicians seem to have the same vibes in their heads. Because it's a miracle again. I had already finished the song as an instrumental piece, and then I searched on Looperman.com for a suitable acappella vocal and found something that fit so well that it seems as if I had composed the instrumentation later.

The suitable song I found is 'Sehveeneetahlahn' by Allia Elvish, performed by the amazing italian singer Kyba. The lyrics are in Aale Elvish — a constructed Elvish-like language inspired by Esperanto. I immediately liked the sound of this unusual language and, as I said, I was totally surprised at how well the singing fit my song. It's a little miracle 🙂.
