Akin to the phenomena of chillwave sounds today, the freestyle genre experienced a similar blow-up in the late 1980s. 

Instead of bloggers posting their new favorite sounds, there where old school DJs playing the freestyle jams out on 12" vinyl.

So to mix up the old and new, here's my new chillwave dance rendition of an old-school freestyle classic called Spring Love by Stevie B. 

Slowed down with a stripped down and more organic approach to the instrumentation and side-chained compression.
