Graeme says.....This started off as a vaguely pleasant but unremarkable little instrumental demo which I'd filed away wondering what, if anything could be done to bring it up to scratch....... Luckily, along came Gina who breathed some new life into it and it ended up becoming this chilled out little pop song....
Gina says....This song is a ramble about life going off into other directions than you had originally planned and then finding that you need to re-start with that original plan because the side-track ended up a dead end.....

Many bands are beginning to have gigs , and venues have come back to life again in my town. That's what we have been waiting for !
We realize how precious sharing music is ! through COVID-19 pandemic. 
I recorded this one-man band song in spare moments from gigs of my band. Playing with my band gives me many inspirations for composing.

Omicron is prevailing and has kicked out Delta. Some countries are changing their attitude against COVID-19. As a medical staff, I also think it’s reasonable to lighten the restriction because Omicron proved to be an attenuated strain.
But, woops, in Japan, the government begins to restrict our activities again! considering only the number of people who catch it while death toll is very small.
How many more times will we have to be confined!?
After cancelling our gigs, I elaborate on this new song.I wanted to make this song to free myself from feeling of despair, like going out to space.

THE MAGIC TREE

The tree is an ancient symbol, old, watching us as a silent witness. As a child, I grew up in my parents' garden which had a massive, more than a hundred year old tree with a trunk thick enough for a three person embrace. We, my sister and I, felt safe under it, as if the tree protected us. Sometimes we'd hide there from the rain, we played hide and seek, and used it's old curled roots as the backdrop for our imagined adventures. 
With the three recent storms we had here in Holland I again saw the enormous strength and resilience of trees.
Although... One strength is bigger, that is of mankind as a whole. I am not a treehugger, although my wooden guitar I embrace every time I play, but I would love to see our world getting greener again, humans living more in balance and in sync with nature ... I play this one for the tree of my youth, It is still there, and try to put to sounds the images and stories ...

This is a piece for two acoustic guitars, although it has very clear composed parts, I improvise some of the parts, as usual. The style is a personal blend of flamenco, jazz, fusion, latin, rock, classical, etc.

Once upon a time during my early elementary school days I was being interviewed on a TV station.  The interview went something like this:
Interviewer:  And your name is..............
Me: (in a very quiet voice) Debbie
Interviewer: Beverly?
Me: (in a much louder and somewhat offended voice) NO!! DEBERLY!!
I said my own name incorrectly on TV and it has been a little joke ever since. 
Sigh.
