This is the song that started it all. The mission statement. "The Magnetic Brain" is my title track, an experimental funk jam that inspired the name of the band itself.

Recorded live in Portugal in 2023, this performance is a tribute to the genius of Hermeto Pascoal and a showcase of our core concept: using a MIDI guitar to perform a universe of sounds—Rhodes, bass, synths, trombone—without a single traditional guitar tone.

HANUMAN Balinese Memories SET (Live Looping)

"Die drei Raben" (the three ravens) is a soundjourney I played as part of a Shibari-Performance together with Schattenhaut and Mya. It is a blend of poems, mystical soundscapes, drums, e-guitar and violin to embark on a journey into the darker realms in between our worlds. The raven as a companion of the passages of time, one red like the fire, one black like the night and one white like the ashes. 
So may this journey be a companion of your rituals of change. 
Everything is played live and improvised using my Loopstation Boos-Rc505, Novation Circuit, Violin and Guitar. The poems are written by me and Schattenhaut.

A live looping performance from The Ferals Are Revolting album 2025. A song of mourning for the loss of the wilderness known as Happy Valley on Aotearoa's west coast, for an open cast coal mine, and grief for the lost home of species such as the powelliphanta, giant carnivorous snails. In support of the campaign by Climate Liberation Aotearoa to protect the Denniston Plateau from the same fate, and future generations from the devastating consequences of climate change. Long live the ferals.

Experimenting with live looping on the #Digitakt2, synced with my newly acquired Boomerang Looper. 

They actually lock in really well, and you can even send PC messages from the Digitakt to manipulate the Boomerang

To add some character, I ran the audio through an Akai GX-Z7100EV cassette deck for tape saturation and warmth.

CONTEXT & ENERGY:
This work is a demo (WIP) of a future track which is inspired by the manipura chakra (the inner fire). It is a rather energetic and dancing moment in the Koundal live show with Gwam.
You might have been able to hear a glimpse in the souvenir video of our recent gig at the St Felix de Montceau Abbaye, by Montpellier (France).

THE INSTRUMENTS:
The Rhythm lies on a strong base: a big B sub bass and an electro kick, with a tempo of 100 bpm, sustained with different types of maracas. The World edge is given by the added djembe as an oriental percussion and the didgeridoo which sets a rather hypnotizing and atmospheric background. The main melody is led by an native ameridian flute.

CONTEXTE & ÉNERGIE :
Ceci est une démo de travail (WIP) pour un futur morceau qui puise son inspiration dans le chakra Manipura (le feu intérieur). C'est le moment le plus énergique et dansant de notre spectacle live Koundal & Gwam.

Vous avez pu en entendre un aperçu dans la vidéo souvenir de notre passage à l'Abbaye St Félix de Montceau !

LES INSTRUMENTS :
Le rythme repose sur une base puissante : une grosse Sub Bass en Si (B) et un kick très électro à 100 BPM, soutenus par des maracas. Le côté World est donné par le djembe joué comme une percussion orientale et le didge qui pose une toile de fond hypnotique. La mélodie principale est portée par la flûte amérindienne.

VOTRE AVIS EST CRUCIAL !
* Pensez-vous que l'équilibre entre la grosse Sub Bass et le djembe oriental fonctionne bien ?
* Le tempo de 100 BPM est-il idéal pour cet effet de transe dansante ?

WIP #001 - Manipura Fire (100 BPM / Electro World)

Composed for the 6th edition of Labyrinth: The Rites of Spring by the 1781 Collective, this piece was made to be played in a dark, cold cellar of the Musikbrauerei (Berlin). In line with the evening’s scenario, the audience moved between different rooms, each hosting a performance with symbolic meaning. This piece was created to embody transformation.

The piece utilises electric violin, Ableton Live, live looping, and various effects created with Ableton stock plugins and Guitar Rig 6 by Native Instruments.

This is the home of a unique musical experiment: a one-man-band from Germany creating the sound of a full ensemble. Here, the electric guitar is transformed, becoming a saxophone, a piano, a Hammond B3 organ, or a vintage synthesizer right before your eyes.

Through a blend of live looping, intricate sound design, and raw improvisation, my music is a journey into the depths of psychedelic rock, the complexities of jazz fusion, and the vastness of space rock. Expect long-form instrumental jams, surreal visuals, and an authentic, human-made musical experience.

Koundoo (aka Dead Beat Project aka Olivier Goyet) is french music composer and musician based in Marseille in southern France.
He is working today as a professional musician, performer artist, DJ, remixer and independant music producer for the media and events industry as well as the toy and entertainment industry.
Having produced different alvums under different umbrellas, such as Dead Beat Project (dark cinematic ambiant), O.S. (house and club couture) or Koundal (meditative soundhealing), Olivier now works as Koundoo (Sa Majestée Koundoo), an identity which allows him to bring together the world of electronic production with live music instruments of deep rooted origins such as didgeridoos, frame drums, native american flutes, rav vast and a hammered dulcimer, as well as tubalophones and tubular bells.
