Rejected Trip

Sounds from the underground band Rejected Trip (1996-2001). From Athens, Greece.

Rejected Trip was a post-punk/alternative & experimental band based in Athens, Greece. Formed in 1996 the band consisted of Leandros (lead vocals, keyboards), Stratos (guitars, backing vocals), Haris (bass, backing vocals) & Kostas (drums). This line-up would remain in place since the band broke up in 2001. They had their first two gigs under the name “Near Death Experience” but changed it into “Rejected Trip” after the drummer found out there was another Belgian metal band with that name.
The band was performing in most of the local concert venues like Graffity Club, An Club, Pique Club (many-many times), Ήχος Club, Be-Bop, Rodeo Club and in D.I.Y. concerts too. Most of the times they would share the stage with friends such as Overdose Of Reality, Nobody’s Nothing, Slobs and NoWayOut. However their favorite performance was in a festival that took place in a forest near Drama during 2001. It was a gig that offered both the band and the audience an unforgettable psychedelic experience.
The band had released their S/T demo cassette with four songs in 1997. Rejected Trip recorded two more songs (“Swindle”& “B-9 Apparitions”) in 1998 but remained unreleased due to incomprehension with their current sound engineer. At the beginning of 2000 R.T. almost stopped playing their past songs and started improvising & jamming a lot without following the conventional song-writing. Their sound became more experimental and psychedelic and their performances even more amusing.
Their last effort to record their material was in the summer of 2001 but neither that time they liked the final result because it was a live recording and the mix was not representative for them.
A concert in Athens School Of Arts in June of 2001 was their last performance but R.T. never stopped loving music and sharing it with their friends.
After Rejected Trip broke up Haris formed The Ducky Boyz and Stratos formed Three Way Plane. Since 2006 Kostas is the drummer of The Ducky Boyz and Leandros participates in the electronic/experimental collective Urbanoise and deals with solo projects as well.
