mY MY.. WHAT  a treat...Newly is my favorite TMS song and the first one i heard from Stephen, and then to have you to cover it my dear REKAH and to do it so beautifully is just thrilling...Love both of you... 😊

A wonderfully rich melodic rock track called Newly by Stephen aka TexMex Shaman, abbreviated TMS that I upon the first listen, fell madly in love with and just had to cover asap! Okay, well it was at first TMS's proposition-idea, just for fun, to pick a song from each other to cover and so I picked Newly if you all must really know how this track creation came about. I was like, okay let's do it! I was so excited to try and attempt to cover and in all honesty, I had so much fun learning Stephen's Newly tune and just couldn't stop playing it day and night, day after day for nearly a week or so. His melodic guitar licks were not only hypnotizing-elating but also mega addictive like candy-yum-goodness. When I finally sent the finished track over to Stephen, his reaction came to me as a huge surprise...he was actually totally thrilled, deeply touched & wanted to post on his SC page right away. Wow, I couldn't be any more happier that he'd embraced my humble sonic expression whole heart-ed-ly and more. Hope you'll enjoy my version of TMS's track Newly as well as his awesome own. For this one, I rounded up my fantasy band, the Famous Texas Men Of Note, to perform at the imaginary Seven Sisters Dance Hall, just west of Austin in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.  The crowd wasn’t huge that night, but it was plenty raucous.  Needless to say, we brought the house down.  We always do.

This song is both a lament for the current comedy-theater state of US politics & culture, and a satirical swipe at the actors involved..

As the world knows, the US will become a tyrannical dictatorship at the end of 2024, should its citizens elect the candidate some call Le Bete Orange. Mr. Orange, besides making himself dictator for life, will put his political opponents in internment camps, invade Mexico, write a new constitution, and shutter all news organizations except Fox News. Oh yeah, and make Tucker Carlson his Vice President.

“He’s a terrifying orange man and if he’s elected he will likely grow to over 50 feet and rampage through the country” - The Babylon Bee

But the smart politicians, and their legal & media allies, have devised an ingenious scheme to save us from this looming catastrophe, and the world will watch it play out over the next year. The plan may be illegal & immoral, but hey, the cause is noble & just. The process has, in fact, already begun, and though our saviors feign seriousness, their excitement is quite apparent.  Hell, I'd say they’re downright giddy.

And far too many still believe…..

So arrest the Monster!...show it on TV,
Silence him & anyone who won’t concede,
There’s no time for constitutionality,
When the mission is to save democracy.

In our lives, we are granted the opportunity to witness the departure of our loved ones. Some depart through doors, never to return, yet still exist somewhere. Others leave suddenly, unexpectedly. Yet some depart when we are somewhat prepared, for their age predisposes them to it. However, there are also departures more challenging... when we observe the tree of the mind of a beloved, from which memories' leaves fall, and even the freshest, youngest cannot hold on to it. We cannot help, we can only watch how they fall...

Composing this little piece was very personal. It was combined with the realization of a fact from my immediate surroundings. I left all imperfections of my playing because of how I felt at that moment. It wasn't an improvisation, it was an interpretation of a theme that I've developed few minutes earlier.
