Body Clinic joins Neptune Discs for their next 12” release with four tribal tech-house cuts, recalling the sound of early-2000s Pacha. With E-Talking on Papa Nugs’ label running the festival circuit this summer, he’s already become the talk of the scene—and this EP makes clear why.

Each track is driven by drums at the highest grade—rugged, weighty basslines locking in with sci-fi warped FX, keeping the floor in constant motion. Trippy vocal cuts thread through the grooves, getting deep into our heads and sending minds off into nearby dimensions. And that’s just the a-side.

Flip it over and Bongo Loco comes rolling in—a true cruiser. Built around a huge breakdown of layered bongos, it kicks back in with the kind of chest-rattling low end that have become Body Clinic’s signature. It’s the moment where hands shoot in the air, the rhythm carrying you further into the night. On b2, My Mate Dave shifts gears again—jumping off the old-school tech foundations and landing closer to the progressive sound we know BC for. It’s a peak-time anthem through and through.

Clergy has become synonymous with a balance of atmospheric and hard hitting brand of techno ever since 2014. The boss's own music has been key to that, with carefully curated releases from guests such as Dax J, Kwartz, Reflec and Cleric himself. Helping to make the label an underground favourite. ‘Clergy Visions 01’ sees Cleric invite an array on techno heavyweights to contribute to this compilation that’s mixed by the label boss himself.

Hailing from Tuscany, Faraone has risen to become one of Italy’s leading house and techno artists over the last fifteen years. His 2020 was impressive with very strong releases on many established house and techno labels like Rekids, Drumcode, Defected and almost 30 original tracks released last year, UNCAGE's label founder Marco Faraone returns on his label with a new single "Forever Be".

Having made numerous appearances on Rekids including ‘No Filter’, his debut album released in 2020, Marco Faraone has become a core artist on Matt Edwards’s label when not releasing on his very own imprint. Reflecting on an amazingly creative 2020, at the start of this year Marco set a new creative path for his future, writing new music that received regular support from many of the most important artists in the scene.

The second part of 2020’s ‘Converge - Part I’, a body of music which saw enthusiastic responses from the likes of Surgeon, Lauren Flax, DJ Bone, Anthony Parasole and Jus-Ed to name just a few, sees the Berlin-based DJ/Producer and dancer generously expand on and refine his slick vision of techno on one of electronic music’s key labels.

By encompassing warm and soulful textures within club focussed grooves, Hester continues to explore the far reaches of both the musical cues picked up from his years as a dancer and formative time spent in the Midwest US, connecting influences from Chicago, Minneapolis, and Detroit.

Stretched across a double LP, the album opens with the spacious and icy ‘Stealth’ followed by the machine communications of ‘Artificial Intelligence’. The B-side sees a whirlwind of the synthetic in ‘Instant’ before ‘Contact’ swiftly picks up the pace with it’s warbling pads and slippery percussion.

On the second disc, ‘Circadian Slip’, custom-built for dancefloor pandemonium, continues with off-kilter leads and vocal snippets before ‘Shadows’ brings eerie syncopation to the proceedings. In the final stretch, ‘Silver’ maintains steady energy into the twilight hours, and the gorgeous ‘Wonder’ closes out the LP beautifully, providing a soft landing to an exceptional journey through Hester’s sound.

Gaston Zani is a Spanish artist whose latest release is an underground remix that caught our attention with its flashing analogue synth line and hypnotic groove.

For this DT:Premiere we have his rework of “Fono” a solo track originally by Matt Sassari forthcoming on Gaston’s own label we(R)aw.

This really is a masterclass rework of underground techno, building a steady momentum with its dark atmosphere, it ramps up the tension with the help of claps, snare rolls and speaker shaking sub-bass frequencies. Unrelenting, it’s simplicity at its very best, as with the help of subtle modulation and a perfectly engineered structure it unleashes a steady torrent of percussive energy.
