Polish multi-instrumentalist Kuba Sojka debuts on Rekids’ RSPX imprint.

Opening track ‘Whispers’ on Kuba Sojka’s ‘Life’ EP on Rekids Special Projects is a piece of brilliantly stripped-back yet evocative tech house, perfectly swung with clipped vocals and acidic synth pulses that bring boundless late-night energy. Next, the superb ‘ID’ unfolds at a slower tempo with a sense of mystery and intrigue. The drums again swing low, this time with groaning pads up top, speaking of a desolate landscape as keys trickle in the distance.

‘ID’ is a brilliantly cinematic cut that keeps you on your toes, while Sojka’s ‘Revived’ rides on big dub techno waves with fizzing pads up top and percussion sprinkled over the vast rolling kicks. Last of all, ‘Final Process’ entrances with rich layers of silky synths trailing off into a cosmic sky as the mid-tempo drums make for a supple groove down low. 

A live performer, musician, and producer Kuba Sojka draws on a plethora of sounds such as funk, jazz, and soul. He brings an experimental edge to his music and, under his Kuba Sojka and Psi-Acoustic project, has explored IDM, electro, future jazz, and acid. He has landed on labels like Mathematics, Matrix Records, International Day Off Records, and now Radio Slave’s RSPX.

embark on a genre-defying journey through electronic landscapes with ultrascope's debut EP - gash. Blending elements of bass, techno, IDM, breaks, leftfield, and dubstep, this release showcases the artist's dynamic range and innovative sound.

papaya kicks off the EP with half-tempo beat and slowly creeping bassline that rapidly turns into stealthy dagger, piercing right through sub frequencies.

gash will release on 12th April 2024, and as the inaugural offering from ŚLINA, it sets a bold precedent for the label's future.

Claire Lefèvre remembers learning about Loïe Fuller in dance history classes: she was one of the “mothers of modern dance”, up there with Ruth St. Denis and Isadora Duncan. She revolutionised theatre lighting and after moving to Paris in the 1890‘s she became famous worldwide for her hypnotising dances, where she twirled with illuminated fabrics to transform herself into butterflies, snakes, or flowers. “Every teacher mentioned how important she was for the field,” Claire Lefèvre says, “but no one ever told me she was a lesbian. Or that she was a colonial poster child.”

The title track of Harvey McKay’s ‘DV8’ EP on Rekids Special Projects starts with driving, shuffling drums shot through with jazz-inflected chord stabs. It’s techno with an authentic soul feel yet perfectly suited to work the dancefloor and sets the tone for the rest of the tracks.

Up next, ‘Footstep’ sees the Scottish McKay fuse an evocative vocal with organ riffs and more powerful and raw drum work before ‘Rasta Woman’, where the Soma, Cocoon, UNCAGE, and Bedrock artist once again pushes his drum machines by blending hard-hitting rhythms with earworm vocal snippets, closing out a club-ready release brimming with attitude.

Part two of Oliver Dollar’s ‘Contemporary’ EP will be released this July via Rekids. It follows part one, released in April of this year, which saw him team up with ADMN, Austin Ato, and APROPOS and featured a remix from Brian Kage. With the first part winning support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Nightmares On Wax, and Dam Swindle, this next EP continues with an equally promising cast behind the wheel, as Dollar brings in Brillstein and Harvard Bass for more irresistible house funk across three tracks in part two.

First up on the ‘Contemporary Part Two’ EP, Jesse Rose, Diplo and Switch collaborator Brillstein joins Oliver Dollar for ‘Pill Popper’, a real dancefloor-igniting underground cut with an unforgettable hushed vocal over infectious rhythms. It is followed by Oliver Dollar and Harvard Bass’ ‘Funky Brewster’, which sees the Tuskegee, Relief Records, and Turbo artist complement Oliver’s house style with signature jackin’ flair. A repeating vocal and hard-hitting drum beat keep centre in this party anthem before Dollar flies solo for ‘Funked Up’, in which a low-slung groove and dreamy, chopped-up vocal work in harmony before breaking down into a jazz-inflected midsection, making for the perfect outro to a fantastic two-part series on Radio Slave’s Rekids.
