Superpitcher and Idjut Boys remix Radio Slave’s ‘Wake Up’.

Radio Slave’s spoken word slow-burner ‘Wake Up’ dropped on Rekids March ‘23, winning support from the likes of Roman Fluegel, Louise Chen and Red Axes and continuing a run of singles that explores the house and disco roots of the iconic British UK/Producer. Now, he invites Kompakt affiliate and Hippie Dance co-founder Superpitcher alongside UK duo Idjut Boys to reimagine ‘Wake Up’ on a fresh 12”. 

The original ‘Wake Up’ saw Matt Edwards, aka Radio Slave, utilise low-slung grooves and an iconic speech-like vocal. Superpitcher remixes the track first, turning it into an acid-infused trip with its vocal samples echoing through cavernous, dubbed-out soundscapes. On the flip, we see Idjut Boys turn up the flange in their hypnotic version while maintaining the original’s bassline and stripping back the vocal to eerie whispers.

Maeve 09 is a special record. It welcomes the return of one of the founding members of the label, Baikal. Although the Dutchman has had somewhat of a hiatus from releasing music, his hard work and struggle with the process of creating forward thinking electronic music has always continued. “Pelican’s Flight” reaps the rewards of this carefully nurtured process and proves most definitely it was worth the wait.

The title track “Pelican’s Flight” is a mesmerizing ten-minute techno trip. A throbbing kick drum is decorated with sparkling synth lines all moving on their own orbit creating a trance like effect on the dance floor. The pinnacle of the trip hears rasping chords blast through the swell in a glorious moment of elation; in short this is a bomb.

The B-side “All Forces Occur In Pairs” goes deeper again, drawing the listener into a similar hypnotic state. Various sonic ideas breathe in and out of the foreground creating a swirl of expectancy and excitement. This track will cause you to close your eyes and be carried away to another dimension…

Exclusive Impérieux 'Vision'

Imperieux has been producing music for years but it took the young DJ and producer a while to enter the scene's spotlight. With his debut EP 'Consciously Isolated' the Bulgarian introduces himself and delivers three tracks that turn out to cover the future sound of the scene. Within no time the EP was played and supported by Innervisions artists like Trikk and BOg. With 'Vision' Imperieux created a genre-hybrid that pleases both the House and the Techno-crowd at the same time with the track focusing and combining a solid groove and hypnotic soundscapes that just soak you into this journey.

Impérieux's EP 'Consciously Isolated' will be released November 13th, 2017 on ATLANT Recordings.

EXCLUSIVE: Impérieux - Vision [ATLANT Recordings]

The main mission of the label is to serve as a platform for promoting gifted artists on the cusp of wider recognition.

The first release consists of the first end of a two-part, eight-track selection of various artists rising in notoriety within the techno scene. Various Énervé Part I features the Berlin-based Frenchman and label founder’s debut, ‘Problème XXX’, along with tracks from promising producers Darse, ENØS and Surt, each of whom ads their unique blend of deep techno rhythms and ambient sounds to a thoughtfully curated mix.

By introducing a collection of artists at once, Affûté 001 allows a broader range of sounds to be showcased. The four different producers all drive the artistic direction hand in hand and superbly set the tone for the great journey ahead.

Out on an ultra-limited series of 12" vinyls and all digital platforms from October 4, 2019.
