London based producer, Kai van Dongen, has hugely impressed in a short space of time, with key releases dropping on labels like 1ØPILLS MATE, Truncate and BLK DRP.  On his debut for Eats Everything & Andres Campo’s EI8HT imprint, van Dongen tees up a trio of funky belters on the ‘Free Your Mind’ EP.

Lead track, ‘Free Your Mind’, cajoles some intense hypnotic sensations amongst its breakneck pace, incessant claps and rubbery synth stabs, whilst ‘The Sun’s Out’ doesn’t drop the energy levels for one second, as fierce and hardcore tones rain down over crisp and precision beats.   Closing this cracking release for EI8HT, van Dongen parades more of his techno chops on ‘We Will Chat’, and confirming that this is one artist who is going to go from strength to strength over the coming months.

Making his debut release on one of electronic music’s most vital labels, Michigan’s Disruptive Pattern Material emerges with ‘Necessary’, a Detroit indebted jam backed with remixes from some of the Motor City’s most influential names.

My first record on Rekids has a lot of firsts. The first "real" club I ever went inside was Detroit's famed Motor Lounge, where DJ Bone was a resident, years later as a club promoter in Brooklyn I brought Terrence Parker out for his first gig in NYC, and Scan 7's "Black Moon Rising" was the first Underground Resistance record in my collection ... it felt only right to have the people that put me down this path be involved for this project. - Disruptive Pattern Material 

Leading the A-side, the original mix of ‘Necessary’ loops a vocal chop at its core, weaving airy synths and bubbling, dubbed-out bass effortlessly throughout the track. DJ Bone’s remix sees the Subject Detroit and Encounter boss draw hidden textures from the original, adding fresh synth works atop the pitched-up vocals for a distinctly Detroit jam. 

On the flip, Intangible Records & Soundworks’ Terrence Parker introduces skipping drums under a hands-in-air piano loop, effortlessly flipping the track into a bonafide party starter. Taking the B2 spot, UR affiliates Scan 7 blend rave stabs, 909 kicks, and rubbery bass for a remix of digital-only bonus track Freedom, the original of which is a hypnotic number carried by metallic leads and vocal samples.

Hybrasil readies the hard-hitting ‘Tuatha De Danaan EP’ for Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects imprint this May. 

Previously appearing on Rekids Special Projects with ‘Afra’ and Rekids with ‘Embers’ and ‘We Don’t Flip’, Hybrasil's latest ‘Tuatha De Danaan EP’ sees the Irish-born, Berlin-based DJ/producer make his fourth appearance on Radio Slave’s imprint with five tracks of direct, powerful techno. 

Title track ’Tuatha De Danann’ combines grinding textures and siren-esque leads under a lethal 4/4 pattern, leading into the trippy and trembling electronics of ‘Hill of Tara’. Featuring atmospheric vocals from Irish folk and soul singer Sarah McQuillan, the track is their first collaboration. 

‘Portal Dolmen’ sees crunching claps over vocal chops and sharp stabs before ‘Megalith’ brings a dose of dub techno aesthetics. Closer ‘Bealtaine’ sports subdued synth work under red hot percussion, bringing the dancefloor focussed release to a close. Additionally, the EP will feature an audio-visual collaboration with Tom Hodgkinson, laying the building blocks for a future AV show.

Istanbul’s Procombo turns in three rolling techno cuts for Radio Slaves’ Rekids Special Projects, backed with a remix from Amsterdam’s Sterac.

Active in Istanbul’s techno scene since the mid 90’s, Procombo holds a residency at Radio 2019, as well as heading up RX Recordings, an offshoot of the vital RX Instanbul club in the city. Arriving for the first time on Radio Slave’s Rekids Special Projects Label this September, the DJ/producer delivers three stomping originals, backed with a blinding remix from Steve Rachmad’s Sterac alias.

‘Glow’ leads the release, opening with rattling percussion atop a thumping 4/4 pattern before hypnotic tones carry the track late into the night. ‘Chi-Town’ brings weighty low end, chopped up vocals, and gritty drum slices to the forefront, with soft pads drifting effortlessly throughout. Title cut ‘Orpheus’ brings the tempo down slightly as a trippy barrage of bleeps and clever automation drives the arrangement, before Sterac’s remix sees Rachmad apply a brush of the psychedelic to the mix, delivering a dense yet minimal piece to close out the EP.

DJ/Producer Lucid Distraction is launching his new Los Angeles-based, independent record label, Native Boundaries, this Friday, September 17th.

The Native Boundaries Collective has been a party and mix series over the last couple years throwing events around Southern California. After having some releases of my own, Lucid Distraction, have reached out to 8 other artists from around the US for his first VA Compilation, Native Boundaries VA 001.

Native Boundaries has worked with some talented artists in the past as part of their parties and mix series such as Cooper Saver, Etari, Drew Dapps, and more.

Starting in 2018 as an Instagram page dedicated to sharing deep house tunes from around the world, the brand and sound has evolved quite a bit. VA 001 is a culmination of the progression throughout the years including elements of minimal, deep, lofi, dub, and acid house.

Rainer Gonaus, AKA Uncertain, has been firing out slick techno releases for labels like Truncate’s WRKTRX label, Marco Faraone’s UNCAGE, and Ben Sims’ Ingoma imprint, amongst others.  On the ‘Sequence’ EP, the Austrian producer delivers another killer release for Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains.
 
Industrial clanging beats and micro disco stabs ensure that title track ‘Sequence’ is delivered with, not only ferocity, but also the funk, that makes it such an energetic and fun track, whilst ‘Machine’ plays it fast and furious, with a rib cage rattling, hulking bottom end.  
 
Wrapping up this fantastic triplet of tracks, ‘Pattern’ is a clinical and punctual high intensity techno roller of the highest order!
