July sees Radio Slave’s Rekids invite Britain’s renowned Swayzak to the roster with a Cold War themed release entitled ‘Odessa Calling’ EP. 

A name associated with quality, Swayzak’s ability to retain their signature sound whilst producing across various sub-genres has cemented them a solid reputation since their humble beginnings in the 90s. Their impressive back catalogue includes six studio albums and appearances on labels like K7, M_nus, Curle, Ellum and Swayzak’s own label 240 Volts, which was relaunched in 2017. Originally a duo comprised of David Brown and James Taylor, Brown has been helming the project solo since 2012. He now joins respected Berlin-based imprint Rekids with two inspired productions. 

‘Odessa Calling’ is a mysterious track with hypnotic synths, mesmerising pads and enigmatic vocals that combine together to create a celestial aesthetic. On the flipside, ‘Numbers Station’ continues with the otherworldly feel employing shimmering percussion that wanders alongside a brooding bassline for a well refined finish to the package.

Major figure of Los Angeles electronic scene, Kompakt affiliated artist Alexandre Mourcade aka Sonns launched the label Machine Limited in 2013 with TK aka Travis Kirschbaum,  with whom he also makes music as Split Secs. They are opening 2019 with their first various artist EP, made up of material from LA’s best known an rising talents, and 2 personal tracks including ‘Easy Love’, a splendid hazy and mesmerizing house jam, perfect teaser of this charming release. Machine Limited Various 1 is out on Machine Limited on 22nd February, also including works from Dave Aju, Split Secs, Live For Each Moon, Warehouse Preservation Society, Silk Road Fantasy and Second Language.

Carl A. Finlow is a man who needs no introduction as he has been a cornerstone of Electro music since his first release in 1993. After countless EPs and a number of LPs on various labels, Carl brings his gorgeous, intelligent brand of Electro music to @2020VisionRecordings with a new 4 track EP called 'Electronic'.

The song picked to premiere for @DarkScienceElectro is the final composition on the record called 'Flaw'. The track was composed using no physical hardware, using only able Ableton, for the create process and a Allen & Heath desk for mixing purposes. 'Flaw' is complete with beats that would make the late great Prince proud while firmly rooted with layers of electronic trickery. The entire release is an absolute slam dunk and is highly recommended by @DVSNME
