On November 25th, Chicago-based death doom collective COKEGOAT will drop the torrential fruit of their latest full-length, Drugs And Animals, upon unsuspecting souls. Engineered, produced, and mixed by Andy Nelson (Weekend Nachos, Like Rats) at Bricktop Recording and mastered by Carl Saff (Unsane, Red Fang, Earthless et al) at Saff Mastering, the nihilistic sounds of Drugs And Animals displays the unit manifesting their own unique brand of heavy, sullen music. The post/doom/death/heavy metal sextet layers Jeff Wojtysiak, Ed Nudd ,and Rebekah Brown on guitars, synths and vocals, while Chase Bentley, Tim Baldwin, and Jordan Schultz add mass with guitar, bass and drums respectively. Six members strong. Six years in the making. Six musical voices.

Comments the band on Drugs And Animals: "Drugs And Animals is a tall refreshing Long Island Ice Tea in a craft cocktail world. It's trashy, it will fuck you fuck up, and you'll probably wake up in a strange place needing a double does of antibiotics. To quote producer/engineer Andy Nelson during the Drugs And Animals recording sessions, 'This album is dense.' [sic] Since our 2013 debut LP Vessel, countless group texts have helped COKEGOAT achieve growing friendships, razor sharp focus, mental stability, financial instability and a more advanced writing process. In other words we are beyond stoked to get this record to your earholes."

Drugs And Animals will be release released digitally and on 180-gram 12” vinyl late next month via the official COKEGOAT Bandcamp page.

Founded in the Windy City during the summer of 2011, COKEGOAT embraces the inherent evil of the earth and the soul. Planets dying, earth eating man, ocean birthing fear, moon swallowing heavens… 2013 saw the release of the debut album Vessel. Sludgelord gushed, “Vessel is an album of distorted chaos… chaotic, angry, brilliant, and bewitching.” New Noise concurred, “Vessels is one hell of a debut. This bitch has balls. But quickly flashes some groove… Here we have ‘three guitarists, three voices, synths, bass and drums,’ kept on a production leash that adds an urgency to the manic time changes. Which crush. The atmospheric layers are just touches. They add mood but never take center stage. This is about riffs, but COKEGOAT know where to accent their talents as well.” 

Part weed, all beer, soaked with good times, one COKEGOAT member has been kicked out of every band he’s ever been in. One has a positive word to say about every band he has ever seen and will travel to any city with a brewery. Another has a serious gear trading problem. Three guitars, three voices, bass, drums, and synths, together they ponder how a goat with a cocaine problem would act. They guess that goat would fuck your face off with riff heavy music that tastes like fresh flesh. What… You ask? They answer… Hell yes.

At long last, Norwegian black metal vanguard TORTORUM return with Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. It's been two years since the release of the band's critically acclaimed second album, Katabasis, and in that time, ubiquitous drummer Dirge Rep has amicably departed TORTORUM's ranks. Bloodied but unbowed, the trio saw fit to record an all-new mini-album, bearing the ominous title Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. This title is prescient, and wholly descriptive of the six-track record's contents. Moving at a slower, more methodical pace, Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. stomps forward with a hideous energy that literally feels DEAD. Like a reanimated corpse or malignant specter, the TORTORUM of Rotten. Dead. Forgotten. has turned a new and no-less-harrowing page here, largely leaving behind the orthodox speed of their massive first two albums and striking upon largely unexplored terrain where space and shade are blackened to a crisp and are patiently pushed forward with a palatable sense of maturity. Then again, the fire of old does occasionally ignite across the mini-album's six, comparably more stretched-out tracks, suggesting that the future is wide open for this equally surprising/dependable band. And like always, TORTORUM are no strangers to the stage, and will soon be defiling them across Europe with a sound that's truly Rotten. Dead. Forgotten.

05.Tortorum - Lucifer Victrix

W.T.C. PRODUCTIONS is proud to present a brand-new mini-album from German black metal cult PARIA, entitled Knochenkamp. Since the ancient year of 1995, PARIA have been a study in staunch defiance and unparalleled filth. Their late '90s era was spent brewing disgusting demos in secret, and then during the early 2000s, a handful of official demos emerged from PARIA's dungeon, perhaps best characterized by the 2007 compilation title Paria über alles - 11 Years of Blood, Cum & Satan. Two full-lengths would be released, 2008's VerminRace and 2010's Unchain the Unclean, before the band's breakout album, 2013's Surrealist Satanist. Released by W.T.C. to international acclaim, Surrealist Satanist was the culmination of nearly 20 years of mounting mental instability and restless demons knocking on their door: PARIA had finally arrived, exploding with dizzying disease and roiling chaos, and yet somehow wrangled it all into palpable but no-less-bent shapes with frightening finesse. 

Alas, PARIA have returned to build further on that monument - or bury it under garbage and gangrene - with Knochenkamp. A fountain of filth and fury, cutting and concise whilst exuding a substantial totality at 28 minutes, Knochenkamp is PARIA at their most untamed and unbound: untamed in how bloody spiraling and dangerously caustic their attack has become, and unbound in that they pay little to no mind what's been committed to tradition under the banner of "black metal." Over the course of four songs and intro, the quartet weave bewitching spells of black metal classicism that soon split apart at the seams and become consumed by a ravenous insanity that literally feels dangerous - there's no faking this sort of instability. And yet, their songwriting acumen is at peak performance, as Knochenkamp's component parts are ones that go places, beckoning the listener ever onward, teasing with morbid repose before whipping forth into a abyss-ward tornado of utter disgust and bitter, black hatred. Through it all, PARIA remain gleefully possessed, almost taunting that listener with demonic delight. Will you have the spiritual/physical fortitude for Knochenkamp?
