The forest was silent, stripped of life and colour, branches like bones under a sky that rotted inward. He walked the dead path without hesitation — there was nowhere left to run, and no one left to warn.

Above, the heavens writhed. Stars flickered like dying coals, and a cracked moon pulsed behind a veil of shifting ash. The tearing had begun, just as he once believed he could command — back when he mistook forbidden sigils for wisdom instead of invitation.

The cabin stood ahead, windows glowing with ritual fire, its shapes crawling along the walls like living wounds. The same symbols he'd carved in his youth, the same whispers he’d followed in arrogance, believing knowledge was salvation, not a summons.

Leaves lifted around him, pulled upward into the sky’s wound. A hum rolled through the earth, through his bones, through the memory of every choice that brought him here.

He did not slow. Doors, once opened, demand attendance.

As the world bowed to the unseen thing waking beyond the veil, he breathed his final acceptance, soft and sure — the only truth that ever mattered.

Alright Captain, we escaped those unruly aliens by the hair of our teeth. As usual. And why is there hair on my teeth? That's kinda disgusting and possibly explains my lady problems.

One of these days we'll have a mission that goes smoothly. Who knew the locals were ninja caterpillars with plasma throwing stars? Man, those things sliced right through the ship's hull. I mean, that's some serious repair work that I don't hear anyone else volunteering to do. This is seriously cutting into my zero-g margarita time.

Well, after I finish getting the warp core stabilized, I'll have plenty of time for some shut-eye before the next crazed alien drops by. And nothing helps me sleep better than the pulsing sound of the engine. Well that, and a cargo hold full of dilithium crystals that I'll unload for a small fortune in the next galaxy. Unless those stupid ninja caterpillars show up again.

Anyway, we have our trajectory set and will have hours of soothing engine white noise to help you sleep. Man, last time I slept that well, I was flying through Alpha Centauri's asteroid belt with some alien lady friends. . . I woke up with no money and my ship was gone. Those two-headed ladies with their sexy tentacles get me every time.

Along my time-travel exploits, I find myself aboard an Atmo-schooner in the skies high above Neptune. The year is 2319 and the giant space plane is bound for Skydock Sigma in Poseidon City. Humanity has long since abandoned feeble attempts to corral passengers into small uncomfortable seats for financial gain; no, this is a supremely comfortable ride with private quarters for each individual at no cost! As I slip into my ergonomic morphing bed, I can faintly hear the wind rush through the omni-wing and I feel the pulse of the quantum turbine drive. But even at these speeds, it will be a long flight across the seas of Neptune, so I’m sure to get a nice long needed sleep.

Alright, I awoke from 270 years of cryo-stasis aboard a sub-light colony ship (https://youtu.be/_TowDiOHEWY) to find that technology had passed me by in the meantime. The galaxy is now teeming with spiffy little starliners, zipping around to all kinds of swanky space resorts. Excited to see this whole new universe for myself, I pooled 270 years of savings interest and booked passage aboard a swanky Gamma Class corvette. Sitting and enjoying a meal of rare Cygnus-style steak and sipping vintage Ganymede wine, I ponder the meaning of life, the universe, and... how does one really fold a fitted bed sheet?

The ship's drive core prepares to engage and the stars swirl around us as we begin our voyage. I'm bound for the moons of Helios VI, where the space beaches stretch for 10,000 kilometers, and you can view the hyperspeed races from atop a palladium spire built from recycled suns.

Man, I don't know if it's the delicious steak or the deep pulse of the engines, but I'm being lulled into a blissful slumber.

Sleep well, and dream big! Or at least don't let the space bugs bite ;)

Soothing Starship Ambience White Noise (75 Minutes)

Welcome to the sleep sounds of the future. Welcome aboard the hyperspace racer Bad Kitty MMMMCMXCVIII. (Yes, in the future, it is impossible to register a good ship name.) We're arriving at the ocean paradise of Helios VI, where sea literally meets sky. The largest moon pulls the water right up into the heavens. Naturally, the surfing is epic.

But nothing draws more people to Helios VI than the legendary Hyperspace Races. Competitors slingshot around 25 moons in tiny crafts while zipping through hyperspace. A few accidentally slingshot right into a moon but usually teleport out before impact. If a pilot can teleport directly into the nearest bar, drinks are on the house.

Through good fortune (does bribery count as good fortune?), I was able to hitch a ride on a racer to Helios VI for a two-day field test. That night I fell fast asleep in my bunk to the sounds of the hyperspace vortex. It brings back childhood memories. (Who doesn't have nostalgic memories when listening to hyperspace vortexes?)

Quasars for Breakfast (75 Minutes)

Play this soothing white noise with binaural beats to achieve deep sleep. The binaural beats help induce delta waves in the brain, which is the brainwave associated with sleeping. This ten hour sound will help you achieve a night of great, restful sleep. Binaural beats work best when listened to with headphones.

Delta waves are a band of brainwaves that measure in cycles between .5Hz-4Hz on an EEG. These are frequencies well below human hearing (20Hz), so we need to "trick" the brain into being able to perceive cycles that low. Binaural Beats attempts to promote the creation of these brainwave frequencies by playing two different audible tones with a difference of the desired frequency, one in each ear of headphones. For instance, in this case, 53Hz and 55Hz, which has a difference of 2Hz, a Delta band frequency associated with deep sleep. This 2Hz difference intertwines inside the listener's brain which scientists believe causes it to synchronize with this 2Hz frequency. Neuro-Feedback theory suggests that the brain will recognize this 2Hz frequency as being associated with deep sleep, and will in tern, induce this state.

For this sound, we additionally added brownian noise to smooth over the dry tones. But we've filtered them in such a way that they, too, contained a 2Hz frequency difference in each ear. So the brain should be perceiving a 2Hz phasing difference, from all sounds involved.

Wow, very nerdy! But give it a try and sleep well.
