Ruben Karapetyan's RKP imprint opens the fall season by welcoming Maze 28 to the label for this debut EP. Hailing from Albania, Mario Zefi aka Maze 28 has emerged as one of his country's most hotly tipped progressive house artists. In just three short years the Durres resident has earned support from Antrim, DJ Ruby, Ruben Karapetyan, Dosem, Nick Muir, Paul Van Dyk, Stan Kolev and more, while his melodic creations have found a home on Droid9, Juicebox Music, Mango Alley. Now, following a remix of Rockka's 'Operator' (via Mango Alley), Maze 28 makes a welcome debut on RKP with 'This Is Just A Dream EP', alongside remixes from Hernan Cattaneo & Marcelo Vasami and Fabri Lopez.

Juicebox Music's 77th release sees Maze 28 making his return to the label with his latest single - "Cry of the Deserts". The Albanian rising star first made his debut on Juicebox Music through "Abyss Rhythm", his contribution to the 2nd edition of our 'Fables' compilation. Better known to his friends and family as Mario Zefi, Maze 28 has been on a hot-streak with chart-topping releases on Mango's 'Mango Alley' & Paul Thomas' 'UV', as well as winning Breeder's "Tyrantanic" remix competition, alongside Freedo Mosho, on the seminal Hooj Choons. We're excited to present his latest offering "Cry of the Deserts", an Arabian-inspired track with his signature chunky bassline, driving groove & ethnic hooks.

We called upon one of our core artists for the first remix. Enter Aman Anand, the Indian artist based in Singapore, who's made 5 appearances on our imprint since 2016, including a collaboration with label-boss Praveen Achary with "Fiasco". Aman Anand's influences range across the board from Electronica to Progressive House to Deep Techno, culminating in a unique sound that truly reflects his vision, earning him releases on Hernan Cattaneo's 'Sudbeat', Frankie Vertigo's 'My Secret Agenda', Bondarev's 'WARPP' & many more. His remix of Maze 28's "Cry of the Deserts" flips the mood on it's head and heads towards the darker & hypnotic side.

The final remix comes from a collaboration between two label debutants - Molac & Nicolas Viana. The Ecuador-based artist Alan Gonzalez (aka Molac) & Argentinian-based artist Nicolas Viana, both a part of the Sendas Music Collective recently started working together. Individually, they've both seen incredible success whether it's Molac's music on Lee Burridge's 'All Day I Dream' or Nicolas Viana's music on Gorje Hewek's 'Peace Symphonies' or both on MODD's 'Amulanga' & MOS's 'Melody of the Soul'. Their organic-infused and progressive-inspired styles perfectly merged into one, as showcased via their remix of Maze 28's "Cry of the Deserts".

In a world painted with pastel tones and symmetrical perfection, the air is thick with an eerie calm. The quiet hum of routine fills the room as if the walls themselves are breathing, softly whispering the same cycle of events over and over. She sits on the peach-colored couch, her hands resting delicately on her lap, her eyes distant yet piercing. Her flawless posture and serene demeanor suggest control, but the weight of monotony presses invisibly upon her shoulders.  

The framed image of a picturesque landscape hangs behind her, its vibrant colors a stark contrast to her muted emotions. A pink hydrangea bouquet rests gently in her grip, as though it’s the only burst of life she dares to cling to. The lamps cast a warm, golden glow, their symmetry amplifying the underlying tension of a space too perfect to feel real.  

The routine has consumed her. Every breath, every gesture, every thought seems calculated, rehearsed. It’s a performance for no audience, a dance choreographed by the unseen hand of societal expectations. She prays silently, her hands clasped in a gesture of hope—or perhaps resignation. The suffocating atmosphere of her pastel prison reminds her that even beauty can be a trap, a gilded cage where perfection stifles the soul.  

And yet, behind her composed expression, there is a flicker of rebellion. The faintest hint of defiance stirs within her, a desire to break free from the predictable path laid before her. The soft pinks and yellows of her world mask the growing storm inside—a storm that promises chaos, liberation, and the rediscovery of self in a world designed to keep her still.

The image is an anthem for those caught in the grip of the ordinary, yearning for the extraordinary. It captures the paradox of modern existence: the comfort of routine and the craving for freedom.
