BIOGRAPHY:

Daniel Tompkins is an award winning and innovative British singer / songwriter from Nottinghamshire in The East Midlands. More widely recognised as the singer for TesseracT with his unique live performances and unmistakable dramatic soundscapes on the highly acclaimed albums ‘One’ and 'Polaris'. Since 2009 Daniel has established himself as a highly respected vocalist with a dedicated worldwide fan base. Arguably one of the busiest collaborative vocalists, Daniel’s voice has been celebrated as one of the best in modern progressive rock and metal.
 
Daniel has released a diverse catalogue of records to date and in doing so demonstrated a natural ability to marry his distinct voice to various genres and yet remain in mesmerising control of his audience. However, much more than a recording artist, he is an accomplished performer who has earned a host of awards and honours having toured the world, sharing the stage with artists such as Iron Maiden, Gojira, Lamb of God, Devin Townsend, Meshuggah, Senses Fail, Animals As Leaders, No Use For A Name, Periphery and Protest The Hero
 
Looking to the future Daniel now balances his time between TesseracT and White Moth Black Butterfly and his various collaborations continuing to create a strong impression within the music industry.

Hey everyone, just so you know the format is as follows: Each week I will upload songs from  incredible Metalcore Bands (mostly underground, new bands), the first songs will be the heaviest and the last song will be the most progressive.

All the bands uploaded on this channel have previously allowed me to share their music.

April 2010 saw ALIASES rise from the melting pot minds of ex SikTh guitarist Pin, guitarist Leah Woodward, drummer Darren Pugh, bassist Joe Heaton and vocalist Jay Berast. 

Following in the spirit of Pin’s legendary legacy, ALIASES are redefining the genre’s boundaries, with a hunger for experimentation and no fear of extremes. Pin explains: “We are interested only in taking Metal on a new and limitless path, allowing the music and vocals to grow organically and exist outside the common constraints of a single genre.”

 Wasting no time, the band set to work on their debut six track EP and in July put out the rough demo track “We Should Never Have Met”, which was received with an overwhelmingly positive response online. This prompted an invitation to play at this year’s prestigious Euroblast Festival in Cologne, Germany where the band stole the show, affirming them as a major force to be reckoned with.

Finding the correct players was essential and the band were willing to go to any length to forge the right line up. Pin continues: “I had searched for three years to find a vocalist since SikTh drew the curtains, first bringing over, only to have deported, a singer from the USA and then finding the awesome talent of Jay Berast in Paris, a long distance situation which works brilliantly. Darren Pugh and bassist Joe Heaton joined from Manchester band Veils and Leah Woodward is a rare guitarist not only having a playing style which compliments my own, but she brings a ton of her own insanity to the mix!” 

Nathan ‘Barley’ Phillips, founder of Basick Records commented: “Working with bands that push the boundaries to create a new definition for Metal, is what Basick strives for, so when I heard that Pin was cooking up a new project after the demise of SikTh, my ears naturally pricked up. After hearing all the demos and then subsequently having my face ripped off by ALIASES’ live show at Euroblast in Germany, I just knew that we had to sign them. Not only has Pin managed to improve upon the insanity element of his former output, he’s also managed to put together a band of outstanding musicians that totally complement this interesting and complex music. So, after a few meetings and phone calls, we finally convened at the first ALIASES show in the UK and consecrated the deal over a healthy amount of Jägermeister. I’m totally stoked to have the opportunity to work with a band who are creating music for all the right reasons and I can’t wait to release their debut CD and Album!”
