Dave Sinner – Alone In The Moon EP’

It’s a four-track attack on Reload Black from Barcelona-based DJ/producer Dave Sinner, as he unleashes his latest ‘Alone In The Moon’ EP. The driving title-track sets the mood as the invading bassline intertwines with eerie metallic riffs. ‘No More Drama’ picks up from there, whipping out acidic phrases, while the shattering sub-bass interlocks effortlessly with the rocksteady drumset. On ‘Unhappy Endings’, things take a more cavernous turn and the rumbling low-end provides the perfect backdrop for creeping synthesis and tasty staccato chords, which ultimately lead us to the closing ‘Zero’ where we are introduced to frantic claps, unfolding synths and captivating looped-out vocals.

After the success of the first A-sides compilation in 2012, Adam Beyer has decided its time to release another. With Adam's stature steadily growing as one of the leading talents in the Techno scene and the rise of Drumcode, the standard of demo's that have been sent to Adam have been top notch. Adam has now decided to release two compilations with 10 tracks on each, both consisting of tracks that Adam has tried and tested. There are also new artists that have been invited to release on Drumcode for this compilation and others who are a staple in Drumcode's core family. Combining both old and new talents Drumcode have come up with something unique and distinctive to make this two-part compilation something extra special.

Recording of my set from Don't.. I played 00.00-01.00 After Aural Sects, before Bintus and Truss . Then for the last hour we all jumped on for a four-way back to back... Sadly the recorder died before capturing much more.. It's a great recording with both direct feed from mixer, mixed down with the noise of the crowd to give a feel for the vibe on the night :)

Following last year's revered Silicon, Danny Daze releases his second for ULTRAMAJIC - Dual.

Of Cuban descent and raised in Miami, Daze grew up steeped in b-boy culture before beginning his exploration into the electronic music realms.

Praised for his diversity, his vision is to break sonic boundaries, whilst preserving music's integrity, both in the studio and behind the decks.

2014 saw Daze step up a level, with releases on Kompakt, Ellum and his first release for ULTRAMAJIC, which came through meeting Jimmy Edgar on the experimental scene, via labels including M3rck, Warp and Schematic. He also stepped back into the fashion world, scoring music for the Song for the Mute clothing brand.

Daze began 2015 with 'Four' - a collaboration EP on the intriguing new label Omnidisc. He also began a new experimental monthly podcast series entitled Sunday Morning, and recently delivered a dark and beautiful remix for Marc Houle's Talk to me Baby on Minus.

Next up is his second for ULTRAMAJIC, Dual, representing two facets of Daze's sound, including the hypnotic frequencies of 'Ready2Go' versus the striking warehouse of 'Rhythm Box'.
"On 'Ready2Go' I wanted to make a track that is driving and influenced by dryness. The bassline and synth bell tone are very dry and represent a Detroit techno sound that has always influenced me. With 'Rhythm Box', I wanted to make a pounding techno record with good drums. The vocal influence came from an old movie, called 'Liquid Sky', one of my go-to movies for inspiration.“

We are happy to present Misoo from italy, who is known for his versatile techno productions. After his huge remix for Marc Troit’s ’1210 Feeling’ he shows up again on Drowne Records with his ’Red Lights’ EP. Coming to light with two original tracks and two remixes by the german techno-stalwart Krenzlin & the austrian techno-mistress Verona Kramer, this release covers many facets of techno. 

The title track 'Red Lights' comes up with a short intro, before a sweet offbeat-accentuated groove predetermines the tracks direction. Piercing one-note synthstabs and warm strings reinforce the tracks melodic character and create an uplifting mood! Well placed snarefires make tension, and bright rides enlighten the tracks structure, while classy cowbells remind on days which have been long gone by, but not forgotten! 

Follow-up ’Transfer’ starts with bulbous kickdrums, a tonal bassline and driving low percs, which lay the foundation for a unique techno track. Sharp hihats chop an offbeat-accentuation and additional tops start layering to tighten ’Transfer’, while powerful crashes and rides strike at the right time! Propelling percussions back-up the groove while electrifying synths break through the soundscape and bristle with energy before submerging again. 

Krenzlin , who is deeply rooted into the infamous Tresor/Berlin, boils it down with his conceptual 909 rework of ’Red Lights’, and takes no prisoners. His rework storms ahead right from the beginning and uses the originals strings and synths to transfer the uplifting mood very well! Tribal percussions clank back and forth while the beloved 909 ride bristles with energy, and confirms Krenzlin’s re-definition as a tune to blow the roof off! 

Last but not least, Krenzlin teamed up with Verona Kramer to put hands on Misoo’s ’Transfer’ too. Their remix deploys powerful groove-accentuations and organic percussions alongside nerve-wrecking rhythms. The electrifying synths, known from the original, shove themselves in the foreground and push the excitement to the max, before the remix detonates again! 

In conclusion the 'Red Lights EP' comes along as a versatile release for the peaktime hours, and represents Drowne Records love for the complexity of underground techno music. It reaches from melodic techno to unforgivingly hard-hitting rhythms, and leaves space for different moods too!

Sebastian Mullaert is well known for his work as one half of the highly respected Swedish duo Minilogue, responsible for killer releases for the likes of Cocoon, Crosstown Rebels and Wagon Repair, alongside breathtaking live shows as a solo outfit as well as their joint live act with Matthew Jonson.

Working from the idilic setting of the mystical Swedish forest, Sebastian Mullaert has has been making serious waves on his solo artist journey, lending his signature hypnotic sound to labels like Mule Musiq, Drumcode, Minus, Kontra-Musik and Ovum. His one of a kind spellbinding live show is illuminating the world's finest stages such as Panorama Bar - Berlin, Concrete - Paris, Fabric - London, Labyrinth Festival - Japan, Black Market - NYC to name a few and can be witnessed on his recent Boiler Room and XLR8R sessions. 

At nearly 13 tantric minutes long, 'Windmaker' bubbles and teases with freestyle keys with an almost Middle Eastern flavour, as Mullaert plays snake charmer to his machines, coaxing out deft melodies, airy cymbals and on point beats and percussion.  It's a track to completely get lost in, crafted with fine sonics and a gloss that only an artist like Mullaert can achieve with ease.

The enigmatic Ukranian producer, Vakula, is drafted in to give a re-interpretation of 'Windmaker'; edgy phased stabs puncture the minimal techno beat, bouncing and reverberating off the kick drum to create a glorious wall of dubby sound that compliments the original mix a treat.  Vakula has always impressed with his creative and original music for labels like Firecracker, Dekmantel and his own Leleka imprint, so it's a privilege to have him remix on Hypercolour.
