Phewa Dawn is an initiative in partnership with Skate Nepal to redesign and renovate Phewa Skatepark, the only functioning skate park in Nepal. Over 50 musicians have taken part in this project, collaborating with each other to create a variety of organic and/or tribal-influenced electronic music.

Bassline Drift x Halfred - Journey Home

Following on from David Morales’ appearance on the label earlier this year, Rekids tap up Shed and Ryan Elliott for a pair of percussive reimaginations.

Well known for remixes of the Thompson Twins, Shawn Christopher, Clive Griffin and the Pet Shop Boys, Morales’ Red Zone moniker was conceived during the Def Mix legend’s formative years at the renowned club sharing the same name.

50 Weapons and Monkeytown’s Shed adopts his Head High alter ego for a remix that draws the original’s vocals into the spotlight before planting thunderous kick drums beneath whilst dusty pads operate above. Meanwhile, Ostgut Ton affiliate Ryan Elliott crafts a reimagination that incorporates breaky percussion, a rumbling low end and sweeping astral synths.

&#8220;Keep On&#8221; kicks things off with rumbling sub bass and metallic synths, while shuffling snares pave the way for mangled spoken word passages to spice things up. <br />
&#8220;The Roll&#8221; continues in the same vein, shifting the focus to cavernous percussion and streamlined synths which bring us to the aptly-titled &#8220;The Vox&#8221;, where we are introduced to a sleazy bassline, complete with vocal edits and discordant phrases bordering on psycho territory.</p>

The Soulful Techno king Gabriel Ananda makes his Truesoul debut with a re-master of his 2006 classic ‘Doppelwhipper’. The package also comes with two brand new remixes from Drumcode favourite Marco Faraone and the hotly tipped Layton Giordani. 

The EP opens with Marco Faraone’s remix, which samples Kings of Tomorrow’s ‘KOT Anthem (Soul Vision Remix)’. This takes ‘Doppelwhipper’ to dizzy new heights, keeping the obscure roots of the track and adding a rolling bass line that will bring any dancefloor to sheer hysteria. Next up is a re-master of Ananda’s seminal ‘Doppelwhipper’, a track which has well and truly stood the test of time. A connoisseur of the uncommon, his curious sounds float through almost 10 minutes of pure hedonism. Closing out the package is Layton Giordani’s interpretation of the track that is set to be a firm club favourite. Pounding through the gears, this one will do some real damage.

The Brazilian DJ and producer has been popping up all over the world in the last few years, and his string of amazing releases on labels such as Electric Ball- room and Sudbeat have cemented his reputation.
'Nevermind' - is Victor Ruiz doing what he does best - exploring track dynamics within a perfectly developed journey - including an unsettling and trippy vocal that lifts the track even further towards the stars. Label boss Oliver Huntemann stops by to provide the remix - stipping the track down to his signature sound - deep and streamlined, yet full of emotion.
