'Against The Melody' brings his signature sound for the first time to Deep Therapy Records with a two tracker EP accompanied by two remixes that are just as captivating as the originals. First up is 'Bells In The Night', with biting claps, a shuffling bassline, and the rising and falling synth line, moving in and out of the mix brings a disorienting presence, underpinned by a driving, entrancing bell rhythm. 'Invasion' - a lean, mean and tough to the bone piece of techno with a driving, powerful edge. Growling, snarling synths ripping through the groove producing an intense vibe. Dok&Martin and Stoked join in remixing the tracks, adding their own signature vibe to the release, and will likely get as much attention as the originals. This is techno at its best.

Raised on an African island, born and based in Lisbon, Rocky is a whirlwind of excitement and enthusiasm. She delivers high octane techno sets inspired by her diverse cultural background and passion for self-expression through music.

This four-tracker is yet another pivotal career moment for this exciting Portuguese artist, whose summer has included shows at Beachland, Free Your Mind Festival, and Dance Valley, where Pig & Dan saw her play for the first time; they loved her sound and quickly a friendship emerged over an equal love for music, resulting in them signing her to their ELEVATE imprint.

‘Rebirth’ the EP is a masterclass in old-school-influenced acid-sharpened bangers, gritty yet melodic. All four tracks mark the start of an exciting few months for Valente.

‘Unapologetic’ pulls you straight in, with a driving bass, piston-powered stabs and a scintillating top line, tied together with a soulful vocal loop. With ‘Under the Radar’, hi hats fizz through industrial clangs, building a contagious energy. ‘Background Story’ ramps up the intensity with a haunting top line and startling, scattered percussion, climbing to a peak before the pounding beat takes over. Last but not least, ‘Negotiation’ is the black sheep of this main-room-ready release. Skilfully informed with a bubbling riff and almost trance-inspired melody that juxtapose the darkness of the kick drum, this rounds off the EP on a high.

This is a fiery debut from a hot, fresh talent, bringing a whole new edge of euphoria to the ELEVATE imprint.

Rocky Valente - Unapologetic

Following the internationally celebrated release of their debut album The Signs Within in 2017, burgeoning Japanese techno duo Drunken Kong look to kick off a brand new decade in emphatic fashion, with the release of their eagerly-anticipated sophomore long player, Where We Start.

Out now via Christian Smith's esteemed Tronic Music imprint, Where We Start marks the second full-length opus from the Tokyo-based outfit, whose impressive catalogue of unique techno productions have also been homed by the likes of Terminal M, Octopus Recordings, Stil Vor Talent and Session Womb to name a few.

Featuring a total of sixteen diverse cuts, including thirteen brand new Drunken Kong originals, two recent collaborations with Mainz-based outfit Teenage Mutants and one exclusive new collab with Tronic head honcho Christian Smith, Where We Start is Drunken Kong's most extensive body of work to date, and goes a long way in showcasing the inexhaustible creativity of one of the most prolific double acts in techno right now.
