San Diego-based duo Hotfire delivered one of the most exciting releases last year on Night Bass. Made this edit right before my set at the legendary Trade during Miami Music Week 2016. A sleepless, euphoric weekend fueled by dance, sweat, and pure chaos. Inspired by the neon-soaked energy of Vice City and the timeless funk of Rick James & the Mary Jane Girls, I wanted to teleport that heat back to the dance floor. Miami was on fire, and this was my love letter to it.

Dutch producer Ferreck Dawn and German mainstay Robosonic go head to head on their dancefloor smash ‘In Arms’. A firm favourite with Low Steppa, Sam Divine, Franky Rizardo and the whole crew of residents when it was road-tested during the Defected Australia tour in early 2018, the thumping, bass-focussed track received a huge reaction from crowds with its tightly-harmonised earworm vocal. Certifying its place as a standout summer record, ‘In Arms’ has all the makings of a future Defected hit.

'Griffintown Records comes correct with more dance floor heat, this time from Gemini 529 who serves up two originals that also get remixed by Darius Syrossian and Paskal Daze. Gemini 529 is the union of two Venetian guys, Filippo and Federico, who have released on the likes of RecoveryTech and always bring energy and real vibes.

Their 'One Gun' is a deriving tune with hard-hitting grooves and busy percussion. A roaming baseline gets you on your toes and vocal yelps and rave stabs adds fire to the atmosphere.
