Preview sound for a nightwalk called NachtVinder (night-finder) with musicians, dancers, food, poet and yoga teacher 21st of octobre 2022 in Ede, Netherlands. As a soundartist i composed a track inspired on meeting glowworms in the night and asked a soprano singer to give them a voice in this track.

A small study on how to use sounds of fish  communication to compose music with. This little 'hiphop' track is composed using sounds from a database with scientific hydrophone recordings of (mostly tropical) fish species. Picture of the fish (young codfish in Northsea) is shared by scientist Tinka Murk, Wageningen University and Research.

Fishy Sounds - Remco De Kluizenaar

Inspired on the curious universe of "Ferengi" a recurring theme in the artworks of Maakfabriek / Dienke Groenhout, Remco de Kluizenaar composed 25 minutes of estranging and immersive music for a theatrical performance, where audience is allowed to reside literally inside this universe. By wearing an inflatable costume yourself and hearing all music and sounddesign of the show on headphones, you really enter the experience. Being together, belonging, identity, feeling a stranger in the mainstream world, are subthemes in this show "Ferengi" that runs in The Hague Netherlands on Parade festival from 15th-23rd of juli 2023 and in Amsterdam 29th August - 3rd September. for the art&science project "Voice of the North Sea" this song is created as part of a "lecture-concert" where storytelling by Chair Professor Tinka Murk and her student Anna Berestova (Wageningen University & Research Netherlands, Marine Animal Ecology) is illuminated by compositions made with underwater soundrecordings from scientific research. One of the cocreating partners in the story and vision is also Chairholder Hans Slabbekoorn from Leiden University, and from his en WUR's network, other scientists collaborated by kindly allowing the use of sound for compositions by Remco de Kluizenaar, soundartist. In the Netherlands Tulips do not only grow in the "bollenstreek" between Leiden and Amsterdam, as the song "Tulips from Amsterdam" (Tulpen uit Amsterdam) might make you think: Tulips (originating from the cold high altitude planes in Mongolia) grow even better in the "Flevopolder". Flevoland is a province in the Netherlands that is 4 meters below sealevel entirely. It is only dry enough to live on, and not flooded, because of milling the water out 24/7. A typical Dutch way of watermanagement. The Flevoland Tulips grow a bit later in the season, and they last longer, because of the colder polderwind and fertile clay making them stronger. This song is an ode to these Tulips, and an ode to the song "Tulips from Amsterdam", as well as to the works of Dutch chansonnier Wim Sonneveld.
