This composition has been written in the period of September 2017 up until the end of December 2017. The general idea of f-stop started out as an exploration of the mechanics behind photography. To translate certain aspects like shutter-speed, exposure and digital gain into music. Whilst this has dictated a couple of important building blocks of the composition, like the harmony, which has been based on the principle of the shifting of focus, which would reveal other details in a photograph. 

It has not become the most important aspect and nature of the composition. Instead the function of the drummer ended up as being the most important, in a couple of different ways. f-stop essentially became a drum concerto, obviously with the drummer as the soloist within the composition. But as an extra touch, I decided that the drummer should be the conductor of the piece as well.
