After two years away from my learn how to create on Ableton Live project I returned to it by starting 7 tracks at once and rotating through them until they were all in Live's arrangement view. This track was the last of the seven I started, the most "laid back" and unfocused   
and  (for no particular reason) the first one I "finished"... I decided to use it  to experiment with pushing the percived loudness barrier higher than I normally would have... Because of the long gaps returning to this task I set for myself, it always feels like two steps forward, one and a half steps back but it's still fun for me when I do get. to it. ~~~~

Since I shared one last night, here's another folk song I came across from long ago, during the early years of my songwriting. I used to focus heavily on storytelling and would often write from the perspective of other people. This one was written about a man contemplating suicide after he learned of the loss of his three year old daughter. I thought about the moment before pulling the trigger. What it would feel like. What thoughts were going through his head. About struggling with the confusion of living in a world where you've lost everything that matters and being unsure of which direction to go. I imagined the feeling of burning up from within, which is how I arrived at the title.
