The Imperishable Night incident was used as cover to allow her to escape from the moon to Gensokyo.
Her Last Word Spellcard is insanely strong, and takes quite a bit to clear as a human.
According to glorious fanon, she's a Hikkikomori.
Her rejection of Mokou's father resulted in his suicide, and the long running feud between the two girls.
